We stayed here on our way back from the Grand Canyon. By the time we got into the area it was dark… DO NOT DO THE SWITCH BACKS IN THE DARK! Craziest thing ever - but a beautiful drive during the day!! When we woke up there were beautiful mountains and a cute town. From there we visited the painted dessert and the meteor crater. Both are a Must-Do!

The hotel itself was very clean, updated, and there were multiple pools (that close at 10pm so keep that in mind).

Even though we don’t care for the Arizona heat, we would love to return back to Sedona and the summit.

Heads up: They will try to sell you a time share with all of their power. Just-say-no, and enjoy your vacation.

Room Tip: We reserved a studio suite that was perfect for our two nights at the summit.

First time at this resort for the weekend of Nov 1-2, 2013. I must say we were overwhelmed by the excellent service and attention as we walked in just to check in! We stayed in room 184P (photos posted). The room was nice - great use of space with a mini kitchen and sitting area. I would have to say the furnishings were a bit "dated", but it didn't take away from our Sedona experience. I agree with some of the other reviews on here about the beds being very firm - ours was no exception. The grounds were very well maintained and we really enjoyed our stay.

Read previous reviews in preparation for our "timeshare exchange" stay. We exchanged a 1 BD and was given a studio. This property is very large. We did get an upstairs unit with minimal view.
We never met with the "Consierge" either @ ck in or in response to their vm's. Our unit was clean & quiet. Located above a unit used as a break room for their sales staff, sort of weird, was open all hours.
Used hot tub a few nights. Very large and nice sky views. Used kitchen for coffee/micro & refridge.
Ck in & out was ez. The "greeter" gave me an ice pack for my arm, which I thought was nice.
Location was fine. Would we return? Probably not. Guess if this is your home timeshare you get a nicer/larger unit.

Room Tip: You can ask for a different unit but really, if they are full, you are subject to availability. Jus...

We regret to read that you have not been entirely satisfied with the size of your apartment, however we believe this may have been something agreed upon by yourself at the time of the exchange, nevertheless we apologise for any disappointment you may have experienced due to this. We are pleased to know that you had an otherwise pleasant stay, however and were satisfied with our team performance. We hope to see you again soon!

We had a sunset suite in building 40. We were in the back of the building, unit 338, which meant that our deck faced the desert with the red rocks visible to the side. In the early morning, we could see the hot air balloons ascend over the sunlit rocks. Our unit was very large and quite clean. We had a question about some track lighting, and maintenance was there less than 5 minutes after we called. Our unit was beautifully updated. We are owners at another Diamond property and are able to go anywhere in the collection using a point system. Sedona Summit is one of the nicest, if not the nicest property we have used. Very relaxing after a day of sightseeing to have a condo instead of a hotel room.

Room Tip: Sunset Suites are, I believe, the largest units. Nice to be able to spread out.

We just returned from a week in Sedona where we traded into Sedona Summit Resort. We didn't get a view room, but were satisfied nonetheless. We rose in the mornings to watch the hot air balloons pop up over the red rocks to enjoy the sunrise, and were able to do that by way of a very short walk across the street.

The timeshare pitch was indeed quite vigorous but, being timeshare owners who trade more often than not, this was not our first rodeo. We declined during the pitch and they never contacted us about it again (unlike some resorts who follow up with a phone call or an appearance at your door!).

5-stars to our housekeeping about 4 days into the trip. Nothing but good things to say about whomever cleaned our rooms.

The location was fine - just a few short minutes into town by car - and the setting amidst the red rocks was beautiful! There are even trails for short hikes if you are so inclined.

While we were happy overall with the resort, we were appalled that 1) we had to pay for WiFi and 2) it was per device! In this day and age when most everyone has a smartphone and perhaps also a tablet and/or computer, we felt the $29.95/wk PER DEVICE was absurd. Needless to say, with 4 smartphones, a tablet, and a laptop between us, we all relied on just the one laptop. We weren't in the room enough to even consider paying upwards of $150 just to have WiFi on all our phones. Still, in this technology-driven world we live in, there's s no excuse for a resort of that cost/caliber not to offer free WiFi. (We stayed one night at Bright Angel Lodge on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and as sparse as that place is, we had free WiFi there. Go figure.)

There is no way to prepare for the beauty that is Sedona . The coloring is magnificent and awesome. From that emits this most unusual sense of relaxation and peace. Couple that with this fantastic resort that is simply unparrelelled in every way. One must visit to be wrapped up in this great adventure. Grand Canyon is very close to either prepare or come down from that experience!

We just returned from a week-long stay at Sedona Summit. This was our first time staying somewhere other than Los Abrigados in Sedona, and I was concerned. Would we be too far from the center of town? Would I miss just being able to walk to Tlaquepaque? I should not have been worried. Our 2 adjoining rooms in Building 5 were clean, spacious and very comfortable. I believe we were sharing lock-off rooms, with 2 kitchens - one bigger than the other, 2 full bathrooms, and 2 living areas. One balcony faced the street, which wasn't too bad even with the road noise, and the other faced the Red Rocks. I had asked to be closer to the adults-only pool, which is located near the street-side buildings. I may not do that next time, in hopes of getting further away from 89A, and closer to the Red Rocks. The accommodations were much better than in Los Abrigados - newer, cleaner, and better flat-screens TVs. The grounds themselves are very nice, with lots of pool choices, and grills placed throughout the property. Our mid-week housekeeping visit was excellent! Although we’re not a messy bunch and clean up after ourselves, it felt as if we were starting all over again with brand new rooms! While we needed a car to get to town, it wasn’t a problem at all. We visited our favorite spots in Sedona, and tried some new ones, and always felt great returning to the Summit. I may return to Los Abrigados at some point since the grounds there are lovely, but for now, the Sedona Summit is a better choice for comfort, cleanliness, and overall customer service.

Please note that I did not pick up the “welcome packet” when I arrived. I was not about to sign up for a 3-hour timeshare presentation, and avoided that whole conversation with their Concierge folks. Surprisingly, I never received any follow-up calls, so if you’d like to avoid the presentation, it shouldn't be too difficult.

Room Tip: If you ask to be closer to the adults-only pool, you will be closer to Highway 89A, and might get so...
