“Great Place to Stay!!”
Reviewed September 7, 2010

The hotel is situated on the west end of Sedona, away from all the congested traffic of uptown. This was a big plus for us! Its only a short, 5 minute drive to get uptown and the price was great for the value. We stayed in a king suite which was large and well appointed. We had a great view of the red rocks, the bed was large and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and there was plenty of space. The breakfast room can get a little bit crowded in the morning, but it wasn't a big deal. The waffles were incredible!

I did extensive research on Sedona area hotels, since the hotels in town are known for being kind of a letdown. I can honestly say that it payed off nicely when I chose Sedona Real. Its a great value, it's in a great location away from the tourists, Though I would recommend that when you go uptown...find parking on the left side of the street. Making left turns to go back to the hotel is nearly impossible with all the traffic.

If you're looking for a great meal, I recommend Ken's Creekside. It's just south of the Y and the food was incredible. I had one of the best ribeye steaks ever, here. Also, the mac n cheese is incredible! The chocolate cake for dessert is enormous and enough for 2 or 3 people.

I would definitely recommend Sedona Real. Great value.

This might have been the largest most comfortable room we've ever stayed out at such a reasonable rate. Usually, all five of us squeeze into one room with one child getting a cot. This large room (perhaps deemed a suite) had 2 queen beds, and in the somewhat separated living room area, there was a pull-out couch. It was so perfectly set-up for a family. The staff were friendly. The pool was fine -- nothing spectacular, but we came here to see the natural beauty, but the breakfast was nothing great. I would unequivocally recommend this hotel.

First, the staff was outstanding! Nothing else was. We stayed in a first floor room and heard the people above us walking constantly. The bed was HORRIBLE! Although the price was better than most inns in Sedona, the room was not worth the price. Wouldn't stay here again unless we had no other choice.

Thank you for taking the time to talk about your experience at Sedona Real. We take all constructive criticism seriously. Our goal is to exceed your expectations and it seems we came up short. For that we are truly sorry. Regarding mattress style, we realize it’s a personal preference. However, we definitely strive to choose quality and replace mattresses when worn. On a positive note, your wonderful comment about the staff has been shared and is greatly appreciated and we hope that in the future you will give us another try. We will do everything we can to accommodate your preferences. Sincerely, Staff @ Sedona Real Inn & Suites

This hotel is a perfect place for a family trip to Sedona/Grand Canyon. Budget prices without the budget feel. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was quiet and clean. The free breakfast was just ok but it is free. Good for fuel for your Sedona hike or the trip to the Grand Canyon. Standard scrambled eggs and sausage with bread or bagel plus muffins. OJ, coffee, and tea also included. Pool and Jacuzzi were good for fun and relaxation. Not really walking distance to the tourist part of town but very close to great hiking locations. Overall, I give the Sedona Real a A+!

We had one van so opting out for solo adventure took some adapting and as the hotel is not on the shopping bus line required a taxi to connect with this free shuttle service; but it was short and just around $10. Again opting to go solo for an early morning hike in the red rocks was easy as just across the street and a short walk brings you to two trail heads. Concierge service was excellent!

We stayed here on our trip through Sedona to the Grand Canyon & Monument Valley, then up to Moab. The service was great, the room was superbly clean, and the breakfast was always good and plentiful. My wife and I couldn't understand however, why the pool was like stepping into an ice bath - it's in the desert, right? To the hotel's benefit, it was the "rainy season" so that probably had something to do with it. This was actually a good thing though, especially after a day of hiking. For those with internet connectivity in mind, they do have wireless but also offer a wired connection for faster throughput (in other words, you can download/upload faster).

The only thing that I can complain about is the nightclub next door, that played music loud enough to hear through their walls, across 50 yds, then through my walls. I complained to the Sedona Police, after the manager on call told me that it was out of his hands - totally understandable. If you're not able to get out and enjoy some hiking, the fitness center is pretty lacking. From what I recall, it's a converted room with a treadmill, recument bike, and a universal all-in-one gym. Could definitely have spent the money better with dumbells, a few benches, and a pull-up / dip station.

Overall, I'd definitely stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sedona, and the Sedona Real Inn and Suites is a great choice for families, couples, or individuals. The room was sparkling clean with a large family room/couch area, nice extra sink area w/ microwave and mini fridge, bathroom, and large bedroom w/ a fireplace for the winter. The only negatives in the room were the lighting (no matter how many lights we turned on, it wasn't very bright) and the ice machine noise outside our door. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and we did laundry while swimming (however, there is only one washer and dryer with a long wait of people wanting to do their laundry...also, you can only pay for a full cycle of both washing and drying and you have to wait until the complete cycle is done before another load can be started). Sedona was beautiful...we wish we could have stayed longer, but we had reserved camping in the Grand Canyon. Once we got to the Grand Canyon, we wished we were back in Sedona. The Grand Canyon was way too crowded compared to Sedona. We knew some people who took the tour to the Grand Canyon from Sedona for the day - I would recommend the day trip from Sedona instead of staying in the Grand Canyon. The concierge was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the continental breakfast was better than most.
