The Sedona Star Gazing tour was recommended to us by my niece, so we signed up. It was fabulous! We were lucky that we had a clear night. Sedona Star Gazing was very professional in how they handled the payment, communication and instructions. They met us at our car and walked us out into the field. One person in our party has trouble walking, and they took the time to make sure she was safe. They had chairs set up with 2 blankets on each chair (we needed it). Our guide was very knowledgeable of the night sky. We were impressed how well he was able to find the objects of interest in the powerful telescope that they had set up. It was certainly a night to remember.

If you've never visited Sedona, then be prepared for being in the dark a lot! There is a light ordinance that is wonderful, but a little hard to get used to. I'm saying that because the Star Gazing takes advantage of that 'low-light ordinance' to maximize your tour! They take you out onto a soccer field in the neighborhoods outside of Sedona, seat you in fold up chairs with a welcoming blanket and tell you to "lean back and enjoy".
It was about 40 degrees last week when we went and just sitting in a field it was quite cold! Be sure to wear something WARM! Hats, gloves, warm socks and boots are necessary!
Matt was our tour guide and he was full of information about the stars for us novices to astonomy. He could identify most anything we asked (or if he didn't know, we certainly didn't realize it!). And he has the coolest laser light to point out the stars, constellations and The Milky Way. I'd never appreciated a view of The Milky Way before! We were pleased to see multiple shooting stars during the evening and as others have said, the night was capped off by being able to see that magnificent planet, Jupiter! We highly recommend for your whole family. My 26 and 28 y. o. sons and wives really enjoyed this tour. Oh, you might want to take some hot chocolate!

So we went to Sedona Star gazing on a very cloudy night. It had been clear all day but by the time we got there you couldn't see anything. We were put into small groups and our instructor had a telescope for about 8 of us. He knew a great deal about the stars and answered any questions we had. We were able to see 2 or 3 stars and Jupiter, but then the clouds got too much and the tour had to be cancelled. In the 30 minutes that we were there though, we had a blast and could tell that if the sky was clear we would have seen some amazing things.
It was a bummer about the weather, but we got a refund the next day along with an apology. I was very very pleased with the professionalism of the company and am dying to go back to Sedona on a clear night and gladly pay for another tour.

After reading trip advisor reviews, we decided that it would be well worth the time and money to give stargazing a chance. We were not disappointed. We were able to see great details of Jupiter, galaxies, star clusters, and more. I loved the information about all of the constellations. Our guide, Matt, was great.

Given my husband and I were only staying in Sedona one night, we tried not to plan until we got there. After talking to some locals, we called to see if there were any reservations for Star Gazing after many people told us it was a must. This was amazing! Our guide thru the stars was awesome! He guided us thru the sky and told us the history of most constellations visible in the night sky! I would do this again in a heart beat!
