We went on the The Extreme Outlaw Sunset Tour, it was wonderful, everything and more than advertized. Our guide BEVIN was so nice, very knowledgable of the Sedona area. We had a lot of fun on this trip, we will be using his jeep company when we return next year and hopefully BEVIN will be our guide again.

We opted away from the Pink Jeeps, and that was a great decision! We went on the Extreme Rim ride for three and a half hours, and it was truly an amazing time. Our guide couldn't have been any better. The scenery was fantastic, and our guide was quite informative. He even made a stop to look at petroglyphs! You definitely get to see things you wouldn't see if you had to drive your own vehicle. Definitely recommend this company!!

We planned a trip to Arizona (from New Jersey) to see the sights and it just happened to be during the government shutdown, so many of the beautiful sights were off limits. Lucky for us we found out about this tour run by the Safari company which took us down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Our guide was so knowledgable about the history of the geological formations and about the people living in the region, past and present. He was a great story teller too! So, it was a long day (11 hours) with a lot of driving, but the time past easily while he explained all about the formation of the different layers of the rocks, the people of Sedona, and the Native American's who owned the road we traveled on to see the Grand Canyon from the bottom. It's a whole different persepective than the one from the top, which we hope to see someday.

We had one day to see Sedona and the hotel desk man booked us on the Arizona Safari Jeep Tours 2 hour Mogollon Rim Run. He insisted that this was the BEST tour. Unfortunately, we got a cowboy driver (Mike) who spent the entire time complaining...about vortexes & how stupid all THAT was, psychics ( a bunch of hokum), Californians (which we are), the "Pink Barbie Tour" jeeps and their drivers (who were failed time-share salesmen,) etc, etc. He insisted the Navajo were liars and trying to cheat the Hopi, he pretended that there was a vortex on top of Merry Go Round Rock and noted how no one felt an urge towards spirituality there. He continued to either carp about Californians all the way down the Schnebly Hill Rd. or touted the importance of the Arizona mountain lion and how no one else knew how to care for them (especially Californians). He was in such a hurry to get down the mountain that he didn't stop at obvious viewpoints and hurried us back to the hotel with 10 minutes to spare.
We were so disappointed with this lack of guidance. We had hoped to earn about Sedona and it's history. We got a short geology lesson on top of the Merry Go Round Rock and that was about it for knowledge dispensed by this driver. We would not recommend Arizona Safari Jeep Tours and would suggest others look into those Pink "Barbie" jeeps instead!

““Cowboy Mike” was FANTASTIC , very knowledgeable and entertaining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We took the “Archaeology Tour” and the “The Outlaw Trail” tour and were very fortunate to have “Cowboy Mike” as our tour guide for both trips. “Cowboy Mike”, was born and raised in Arizona and is very knowledgeable about the region. He entertained us with great stories and history of Arizona and his experience leading mule teams in the Grand Canyon.

The Archaeology Tour showed us some very interesting petroglyphs and Native American ruins, as well as a peaceful trail along a creek. The trail also involved climbing rocks so hiking shoes are a must on this tour. This tour is an “Exclusive” only offered by the Arizona Safari Jeep company and having a knowledgeable Arizona “local” like “Cowboy Mike” makes this a “Must” on your “Bucket List” while in Sedona.

“The Outlaw Trail” tour involves some extreme “Off Road” driving and provide some great stops for pictures you would not get on your own. “Cowboy Mike” entertained us with stories and pointed out houses owned by the stars (Nicolas Cage, Madonna, Oprah, Lucille Ball, etc).

“Cowboy Mike” was respectful and patient with the passengers and made stops whenever asked. Note - if you have a tendency for motion sickness you might consider avoiding large meals prior and bringing some bonine for this tour.

“Cowboy Mike” took us to a vista for some stunning “Red Rock” pictures and one of the most beautiful “Sunsets” we have ever seen. The memories we experienced on this tour and with “Cowboy Mike” were the Hi-Light of our stay in Sedona.

With so many Arizona adventures to be had, we chose the Arizona Safari Jeeps Tours. No Pink Jeeps for us! We are so glad we did! We experienced the true flavor of this beautiful area with our driver and tour guide (Bruno) a true cowboy. Our first adventure was up the original Schnebly Hill Rd. which was the original stagecoach road from Sedona to Flagstaff. What a ride that was! He took us to the most picturesque sites and made sure our questions about the area were answered with facts and humor. With Bru's expert driving skills along with his knowledge of the area, made for an awesome tour. He was so awesome in fact, we requested him for our second tour, the 3 hour extreme Outlaw tour. There was excitement around every curve as well as the magnificent sights of the back roads of Sedona.
If you really want the true flavor of how the cowboys and indians lived and survived in this beautiful desert, we strongly suggest The Arizona Safari Jeep tours with Bru. You will definitely find your own vortex on these adventures.
