If you're not into "tours" and like to go out on your own, this is definitely the way to go. Great staff, brand new Jeep and detailed instructions on how to attack the trails. Kids were unsure at first, but by the end of the day they were begging for more! Great way to see the sights of Sedona.

“A thoroughly rip-roaring time!”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

My wife and rented a Barlow jeep for a three hour tour of Soldier Pass trail, and the trail that leads to the Honanki Indian Ruins. A very exciting trip that was very doable in the jeep that we rented. The jeep crawled up the rocky inclines on the trail like a tank. The jeep allows you to see the hidden beauty of Sedona. This was a highlight of our trip and would recommend a tour with a Barlow jeep!

“First time off road! Woohoo!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

My husband, two kids (10 and 15) and myself had a blast renting the Rubicon for 4 hours, the woman behind the counter was extremely helpful explaining how to handle the jeep, trails to take and just overall super nice. We did the trails of Soldier's Pass ad Broken Arrow in approx 4 hours. Had a blast doing "Slide Rock" and "The Stairs" and stopped at a vortex site too which was super windy! Would recommend doing this to anyone, just do not forget to bring proof of insurance!

“We had a blast!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

We considered going on one of the guided tours where they drive but decided to rent our own Jeep so that we could take our time and do whatever we wanted without feeling rushed. Our only regret was not renting the Jeep for the entire day. All the Jeeps are 2012 or 2013 Jeeps so they all look very nice and new. They handle amazingly as well. As long as you listen to the staff and follow the very specific and detailed instructions provided on the maps for each trail, you will have no problems. We only rented for half a day (4 Hours) and managed to do the Soldier's Pass Trail and Broken Arrow. The times suggested for each trail are very very generous, 1.5 hours for Soldier's Pass and 2.5 hours for Broken Arrow. We ended up with almost about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to spare before our half day was up. The staff is very friendly and are very knowledgeable about the trails and the Jeeps. After this experience, I'm tempted to look in to buying one of the new Jeep Rubicons myself. lol. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, whether you have any Off Roading experience or not, and are looking for an adventure and a fun experience.

“Simply the best thing we did all vacation”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

We rented a Jeep for the whole three days we were in Sedona and absolutely loved it. The people at Barlow's were outstanding in giving us information on all the trails and things to do. It's not cheap but if you have a family of four like we did, it actually works out very well vs a Jeep tour with one of the companies. A lot of people rent for an afternoon or a day, and that would definitely be fun. We chose to rent for a few days so we could take our time, work in some hikes and see the countryside at different times of day. We covered all the main trails, some a couple of times. We could not believe how capable the Jeep is -- we thought we were being adventurous on the first trails but by the end were totally comfortable getting very 'Jeepy' as they say with 'blue sky through the windshield'. Definitely one of the most memorable things we've done in a long time. Having our own Jeep meant we could set our own schedule, stop when we felt like it, and also meant we often felt really away from it all. If you're even half interested in doing this I'd say go for it - I don't know anywhere else in the world you can rent such good quality vehicles from such friendly and professional people and get on such exciting trails in such beautiful scenery!!
