We hiked the cathedral rock trail which took about an hour. It was definitely not an easy hike; the hardest part was about the last 20 minutes, but it was so worth it. Once you get to the top, go over to the far right to capture the best views. We got to the trail by the taking the back o beyond road; while the parking lot was full, we just joined the other 20 cars or so that parked on the side of the road. So worth the climb!

We hiked down to the creek to have a view of Cathedral Rock and all I can say is, if I could pitch a tent there for the rest of my life I would be happy.

We drove to the viewing point as we were only there for the day, other than the Grand Canyon I've never seen anything so beautiful and breathtaking. I would like to return again one day and spend a bit more time there and be able to go hiking, we stopped at Oak Creek Canyon and the lady at the information kiosk was very helpful and pointed out areas that we could still visit during the government shutdown as there was no access to any of the park walks.

took us about an hour + to hike up to the top of the beautiful rock, most of the difficult climb is at the end, last 20 minutes or so. but it was worth it when you get to the top, beautiful view of the valley and a sense of accomplishment. we rested for about 20 minutes up at the top enjoying the fruit of the laborious hike.

Take the road that lets you park closest to the creek, just a short distance to creek and view! Bring your camera and plenty of batteries to take those fantastic shots, the colors change every minute.
