“outstanding value, wonderful staff, generous breakfast buffet, but walls a little thin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

My daughter and i recently stayed at this motel/hotel for 2 nights while on a grand canyon/sedona getaway. overall we were extremely happy with our stay. it is easy to find and well situated for all of the sites and hikes in sedona. the rate we got on expedia was fantastic compared to other 3 or 4 star hotels. the design of the hotel is very unobtrusive to the surroundings, and every floor has a large shared patio from which to enjoy the incredible views of the red rock. check in was easy. the receptionists were extremely friendly and informative. we got an automatic upgrade to a room with a better view due to me belonging to the best western point system. also included was a goody bag with bottled water and a few granola bars. the lobby was spacious and pleasant. there are a few leather couches and a fireplace along with 2 computers and a concierge desk. hot cider is also served.
the rooms have doors which open to the outside parking and also back doors opening up to the shared patio. we got the room immediately next to the lobby, which was fine with us as it was a very convenient location. we had 2 queen beds. the furnishings were fairly new and very clean. the bathroom was modern although had dim lighting. there was no light over the bathtub so it felt very dark while taking a shower. there were abundant towels, and we appreciated the conservation friendly soap dispensers. the size of the room was generous for a motel. there was also an empty mini fridge, coffee maker, and table and 2 chairs.
the free breakfast was outstanding; it included scrambled eggs, specialty eggs (sausage and cheese, etc), link sausage, potatoes, pancakes (great automatic pancake machine) , yogurt, granola, oatmeal, breads (good variety), cranberry bread, bananas, fruit salad, tea/coffee/juices. you really can't ask for better for the price of this hotel.
all of the staff we interacted with were friendly, informative and pleasant. they gave us wonderful advice on trails, the pink jeep tour, etc.
my only complaint is that the walls were a little thin. we could hear voices from the neighboring room, although we couldn't hear their television at all.
overall- fantastic bargain, beautiful hotel, outstanding breakfast, commendable staff, thin walls.

Green Features: excellent! they had soap/shampoo dispensers. their pens were from recycled products, and they had the "reuse your towels/sheets" policy.

We were very pleased with the recommendations made to us by concierge Joan Bickis. We wanted to visit a Native American reservation, so we thought. Joan asked what was our interest and suggested to visit the Montezuma Castle and Well. We also toured the the Palatki Indian Ruins. Our family really appreciated the tour and the guides. It was a great trip!

Thank you for your kind compliments for Joan! She is very knowledgeable about Sedona and the surrounding area. I would have to agree; Monetzuma's Castle is an amazing archaeological site, with a great museum and fantastic staff. Palatki is an amazing site too, with it's many petroglyphs. There are many other ruin sites in the area, we hope you'll come back soon to see them!

It is a wonderful hotel. The location is excellent, there are majestic views in all directions. The hotel building blends nicely in the location. The rooms are nice, clean and modern. The breakfast was ok, although seating area is a little tight. The best thing about this hotel is its layout. The hotel has been designed to enjoy the views for all the guests which I find extra ordinary. There are terraces at every floor which allows everyone at the hotel to enjoy the views. This is hotel is made for the guests. Just awesome. I never repeat hotels, but I'll come to this one again.

Thank you so much for your review! I am delighted to hear that the hotel's layout and views suited you so well. I am sorry to hear the breakfast room became a bit crowded during your stay. Please know that we do have a heated outdoor seating area to compensate for the busy times. There's always more Sedona to see, so we hope you can come do some more exploring with us soon!

We stayed here for two nights and had a great time. The hotel is in a beautiful location and our room had access to a huge patio. The room was comfortable, clean, and everything worked. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is certainly one of the best hotels I've stayed at in a long time.

We were very happy that we chose this Best Western for the first two days of our Sedona/Grand Canyon/Flagstaff trip. My first priority is cleanliness, and this hotel surpassed my expectations. Even the TV remote, usually the germiest of all hotel items, was a special "Clean Remote" with a flattened surface for sanitary cleaning (see photo). The bathroom was clean (good water pressure), as was the room (no icky comforter) and the hotel in general. The workout room was really clean, and the pool and Jacuzzi looked spotless, as well.

We had a third floor room (I highly recommend this for the view) with a patio giving us gorgeous views of the nearby red rock mountains. Being on the top floor allowed us to park our car near our room entrance which was pretty handy. Our room was furnished with a switch fireplace & sitting area, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a flat screen TV, an iron & ironing board and free internet.

The staff was friendly, the buffet breakfast was one of the best we've ever had at a mid-priced hotel, and I do highly recommend this hotel as THE place to stay in Sedona. I have just one negative I need to comment on. Although our king bed was initially very comfortable, it took some getting used to. Every time my husband made ANY kind of movement, the bed kind of shook and kept waking me up. I don't know if it was the mattress or weak legs on the frame, but it kept me from getting much sleep the first night. With little sleep and a lot of hiking done the next day, I was exhausted the next night and was able to ignore the wiggly bed & get a good night's sleep. Next time, I will ask for 2 queens just so I have a backup bed if needed!

By the way, we missed one of our hotel breakfasts and ended up at The Coffee Pot Restaurant (101 Omelets!)...delicious!

Room Tip: We had Room 309 with King Bed...stay away from this bed! The room next door (possible #310) was a c...

This is by far the best Best Western site and location we have ever experienced. What makes it the perfect spot is not only the location but the quality of the inn.

We chose a room on the third floor facing Sedona because of the sunset. What is unique with this BW and the room is that each room has two doors, one on the parking, the other on the terrace. Park your car, unpack your luggage, get a drink, open the other door and sit on the tarrace to enjoy the sunset. On top of that there was a bonus for us as the full fall moon rose as the sun went down.

As for the room, with fireplace, it is a typical good quality, well equipped BW with helpful staff.

The breakfast room, unusually located in a separate building, is large, well appointed, with the possibility of sitting outside, weather permitting. The staff was warm and helpful and kept replacing the numerous choices diligently.

The pool is on the smaller size but with enough sitting choices and we really appreciated the laundry facilities after a week on the road.

Needless to say we would go back.

We have visited Sedona, AZ 30 times over the years. However, this was the first with our dogs. The Best Western was not only clean, good amenities and modern, but the staff was unusually friendly and helpful. We were also surprised at the proactive support and help for our dogs. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a hotel room (not time-share or condo) in SEDONA and especially if bringing dogs. Great Experience, Bob & Julia Beardsley
