“A Hidden Jewel”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

I almost hate to tell the world about this place - because it is so fantastic! We only had one night to spend in Sedona and really wanted a hotel with a true view of the red rocks. After looking at a lot of different places online, on a fluke we found this one - and we were so grateful that we did. We had the choice of either a balcony room or a patio room and we chose the patio. I was astounded by how lovely the view was at sunset, just as we arrived. But I actually got up at sunrise - which I never do - to drink it in even more. Ultimately, I couldn't decide what I liked more - the exterior of A Sunset Chateau, with its incredible view, lovely gardens and European vibe is wonderful. And the interior of our room was equally as great, with a large Jacuzzi tub and nice, large bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, nice seating area with electric fireplace and large sofa where we could read or look out the window at the mountains, and big comfy king bed, with top notch linens. You also receive a delicious breakfast with your stay. The owners are lovely, warm people who really know how to make guests feel at home. The entire property is so peaceful. I wish I was there right now!! Dreaming of going back soon!!

Room Tip: I loved the "patio" Casita. So peaceful and sitting there, you felt like you were part of...

Staying at A Sunset Chateau is a perfect way to enjoy everything that Sedona has to offer. My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with the warm hospitality, great breakfasts and large casita. We stayed in #18 which had a separate living room with equipped kitchen, large closet, double sinks, and a comfortable king bed. The room was extremely quiet, immaculate, with plenty of thick towels, and toiletries. The decorating-- as we saw throughout the public rooms -- is a fascinating and eclectic mix, with a southwestern theme. We absolutely loved walking through the grounds that feature lovely landscaping, tables, chairs and even a hammock, water features, and wonderful metal sculptures. Some -- like the burros wearing colorful blankets on their backs -- made me smile!

We enjoyed three great and different dinners -- at Picazzo's, Rene's and the Mesa Grill -- that they had on a recommended list. They also provide an edited list of "things to do" in Sedona.

Lindsay was so helpful and friendly! She's from the area and provided us with a map of beautiful places to see and go off-roading. On our third morning, Philipp shared some fabulous places to visit in northern Italy near his Swiss hometown.

We also greatly appreciated Janet and Lindsay's help in accommodating parking for a truck and trailer near the property.

We will definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone seeking a world apart, but very convenient to everything in Sedona!

Thank you for a wonderful visit at Sunset Chateau! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was peaceful and charming. Our suite was beautifully decorated and so well equipped...you thought of everything to make our visit pleasant and comfortable. We enjoyed having our coffee by the fireplace in the early mornings and loved the sound of the little creek outside our door.
Staying at the Chateau is like stepping into a French Villa with all the colorful art work, the lovely flowers, the lights in the trees...all make it a magical experience! This was our third visit to the Chateau and we are already looking forward to the next one. We always feel like family there....it is truly our favorite "home away from home". It's wonderful when the inn or bed and breakfast that you have carefully researched turns out to be just as special as you hoped it would be! A Sunset Chateau gets our highest praise. This inn exudes warmth, service, peace, relaxation, and happiness. The owners and their children have put their amazing artistic abilities to good use in the design of this inn; it is obvious that they care about each guest, as they go out of their way to welcome each person at breakfast and to inquire about their stay and plans for the day.

We had numerous questions about activities in the Sedona area. I emailed A Sunset Chateau in advance of our stay-several times. Each email was answered promptly and in great detail by one of the owners. We used their free concierge service to book a Pink Jeep Tour and a dinner reservation. We're so glad we did, as we were visiting during "high season", and we would not have been able to get reservations if we had waited until we arrived.

Our room, Casita number 10, was HUGE and so inviting! We particularly loved our shaded porch
and wished that we had had more time to sit and gaze at the red rock views. Next time we will book a longer stay...2 nights just wasn't enough.

Our compliments to the family and staff who make this inn so special. Every accolade is well-deserved!

Room Tip: I think that there are 23 rooms. We loved Casita #10, a king with a Murphy bed and a shaded porch...

I visited A Sunset Chateau earlier this month with a group of friends. We were delighted with this property! The rooms are inviting and spacious and tastefully decorated, so comfortable! The location is perfect. It is close to everything in Sedona but tucked away in a quiet corner so that you feel that you are away from it all and yet had fantastic views of the Red Rocks to the north of Sedona. The owners and staff were all helpful and accommodating. We were able to relax on the patio and by the pool and hot tub for a wonderful stay! We could walk to several different hikes in the area. We would definitely stay here again! Loved it!

Room Tip: The rooms with a view are great but the rooms with a garden view are larger.

We stayed three nights and got married at Bell Rock. We loved this place. We stayed in I think Romantic #4. Service was great from the time we called from Florida to book until check out. Loved the jacuzzi tub and the gas fireplace in the room. The red rocks view from our room was beautiful. The grounds were perfect and we loved all the cute ambiance around the hotel. After we got married, we took a swim in the heated salt water pool and then relaxed in the jacuzzi. We were the only ones there and it was perfect. We rarely saw other guests, except at breakfast time. Breakfast was great and I loved the music that was played during the meal. Each morning was different, we had a burrito, french toast and omelette. The staff left us a little wedding cake in our room. It was pretty much a perfect pick for our stay!

Room Tip: There are some really pretty second floor rooms near the back hammocs that I noticed. They must have...

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast for a 3 day get away. Lindsey welcomed us and made us comfortable. Our room was lovely. It was spacious and comfortable. Everything was spotless and well-kept. When we left, my husband unknowingly left part of his luggage. Lindsey called us on the road and offered to send it home to us. What a wonderful establishment. Thank you, Lindsey and the staff at A Sunset Chateau!
