“Wonderful Inn, Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

My wife and I stayed in room 14 for 2 nights. It was amazing. The rooms, as others have stated, are more like apartments. Our room had a beautiful bedroom with a canopy over the bed. There was a quaint kitchen complete with an electric range, microwave, refrigerator, etc. Everything was perfect.

The pool and hot tub were very nice. They even have a gas fireplace by the hot tub--quite a neat experience sitting there relaxing with a fire going on one side and incredible views of the red rocks of Sedona all around.

The inn is perched on a big hill so the views are stunning from wherever you are on the property.

I love food. Breakfast was awesome both mornings! Seriously good food. Philippe, Janet, and their son, Jean, were very gracious and accommodating hosts. In the short time we were there, we had several great conversations with them.

I would highly recommend visiting this b&b. We'll definitely be going back.

My husband and I stayed in Room 11 for 1 night and Room 11 for the following 2 nights. A Sunset Chateau is unique, eclectic and worth it! Room 11 included a separate bedroom and small kitchen with oblique views of the redrocks from the patio. The room was well appointed and the bedding lovely. The sink to the bathroom is in the bedroom and not in the bathroom which was one little quirk but not a problem for us. Might be something to consider if you're sharing the room with another couple. Room 3 was a slight upgrade in terms of price but incredible direct views of the redrocks and a more updated bathroom and kitchen set up. While the whole place is lovely I would recommend splurging for just a little more for the rooms that are now priced at $229. Room 23 also had a separate bedroom area. The nice hiking trail is steps outside the door and the pool and jacuzzi area outdoors was very enjoyable, particularly with the fire going at night time. The breakfasts were also great. I would stay at this place again and again.

A cozy yet spacious this 23 room (rather apartment) Sunset Chateau in Sedona, is one of the best places we have ever stayed at, and we have been traveling in this country and mostly in Europe for over 30 years. Here you will have the best of both: European charm and American efficiency. The location, décor, comfort, facilities etc are wonderful. It is just perfect for travelers who prefer a personal touch and taste to stereotype and grandeur of large hotels and resorts. So, book in advance. And we will be back

Room Tip: Did not use fitness center.

Sad to say we only spent one night at this beautiful inn, but it was well worth being there. If there's a lodging with better views than this, I'd be surprised. The property is lovely and well kept. The pathways and seating areas around the pool and stream are well positioned for watching the sunset on the rocks as well as star gazing at night which we did.
The suite was spacious and well appointed with a gas fireplace which we also had going at night before bed. Our suite faced the magnificent red rocks.

The breakfast our morning was omelettes that one could mostly choose the ingredients to order. They were excellent. There is a hiking trail right across from the lobby if one chose not to drive to trails. I feel Iike I hit a homerun choosing this property.

Room Tip: The lower units seem to have the most unobstructed views

My husband and I had the best 3 nights in Sedona at A Sunset Chateau. We stayed in the Adobe Romantica room....well worth the money. The decor is beautiful. The view out the window is incredible. It was very private and very romantic. We used both the hot tub in the room and the one by the pool area. I also enjoyed the pool and the area around it, overlooking the red rocks. What an experience! We both loved the gourmet breakfasts. I'm ready to go back anytime.

We met friends for three days in Sedona and it would be hard to imagine a better place to stay. Spacious rooms with kitchen, good breakfasts and the owners, Janet and Phillipe were very helpful in picking out hikes for the next day. The hot tub was great for after hike relaxing. The only wish that was unfulfilled was for bathrobes to wear to the hot tub. We would return.

What a great find this place was. I liked the colorful Southwest decor in the rooms (not cheesy - although possibly bordering on it :), having a kitchen, and the well-designed patios and porches with ample comfortable seating, tables, umbrellas. The casitas are built around a central terraced patio with lots of trees and vegetation that areas of relative privacy.

We were three women enjoying a hiking/cycling weekend and so finding a place with three beds was great. I slept in the murphy pull-down queen bed in the living room - a real mattress, very comfortable, no need to rearrange living room furniture to use. My only quibbles (and they are small) are that the bathroom is in the bedroom so I had to disturb my sleeping friends in the middle of the night; and the living room couches are cushions/pillows on large pine log frames so not the most comfortable for lounging. But we just hung out on the more comfortable outdoor seating on our patio, so really it wasn't an issue.

The morning breakfasts are delicious and portions are generous. They seem to always feature eggs and potatoes; on my third day I had hoped for a little variety. That said, the egg entree is always different (omelette, breakfast burrito, egg/mushroom/potato creation) and delicious, with fresh ingredients. So again, just a tiny quibble.

The host couple is fantastic, friendly, helpful and genuinely happy to serve.

There were a few families during my weekend -- seems an ideal and economical place for family groups.

PS - A note about Sedona restaurants: On a busy saturday night, it was hard to get seated between 7:00-8:30! Suggest making a reservation (not all restaurants take them) or going on the early side!

Room Tip: Not sure there is a bad room? We stayed in #12 which is semi-detached. Did not hear neighbors during...
