The Ridge on Sedona is actually in Oak Creek, which is about 5 miles south of Sedona proper. The resort is set on a beautiful golf course with views of the spectacular red rock formations. The location is convenient, easy to get to, and quiet.
We have 2 children, b(9) and g(7) and this time went with a studio because it was all that was available for the Veteran's Day holiday week. Though we reserved a week, we only needed 4 days. The studio was spacious enough for our needs (about 500sf) and the short trip, but I would recommend a larger unit for a longer stay. The unit has a kitchenette with 2 burner stove (no oven), microwave, toaster, blender and apartment-sized fridge. All the appliances and cooking implements were of good quality and new. The queen bed was extremely comfortable - the wife wanted to take it home - with plenty of pillows. There were enough towels for the shower and pool. The pull-out couch (double bed) was memory foam, and quite honestly the nicest one that we had ever used; the children were more than comfortable. The unit did only have a shower, though it was large, and a single sink. The balcony could accommodate 2.
The resort had several pools, opened year-round, and a great hot tub with views of the mountains. The concierge and check-in desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and did not push too much for a timeshare presentation. Parking was a little sparse, but adequate.
Overall a truly great experience, would give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the red rocks.

Thank you for your recent review of The Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort. Your comments described our studios perfectly and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. You did receive one of the remodeled studios which do have the two burner cook top. 2013 will be an exciting year for us when we complete our multi-year remodel project and then all studios will have the two burner cook top, microwave, larger refrigerator, dishwasher and flat screen TV’s. We look forward to your next visit, thanks again.

We had an overall great experience! The service was good, however, we arrived a few hours early, so, one of the front desk clerks told us they would call us when a unit was ready. We never received the call. I enjoyed the apartment feel of our room, and loved that there was a washer and dryer in the unit! The pool area was beautiful!

The Ridge on Sedona Golf is a decent place to stay, especially if you are a golfer. However, you're about 7 miles from Sedona, on a road that can get pretty busy. We found ourselves having to go back and forth way too much, and spent too much time with traffic. The unit itself was more than adequate, and the front desk was good about putting two rooms next to each other that had previously been booked at opposite ends of the complex.

Thank you for your recent review of your stay at The Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort. I am pleased that you enjoyed the accommodations and even though we are 7 miles from the center of town I hope that during the drives you made you were able to see all magnificent red rock formations along the way. They are all truly breathtaking and worth seeing over and over! I look forward to having you stay with us again in the future.

Just came back from this hotel. First off the service was first class as were the rooms. The view from our room was non existent but no biggie as we did not spend a lot of time there. The activities provided by the hotel were very good except for one which was the vortex tour hosted by a gentleman that was not interested in taking us to the vortexes but more interested in announcing his degrees to us and discounting the actual vortex sites! First off we all had to drive in our own vehicles. 9 people, 5 vehicles. Not cool in our estimation. We were not informed of this prior to the trip and when we arrived for the tour he told us that we had to be in our own vehicles. And then he accused us of being late! So off we go on the tour, so we thought and we end up at the chapel where he proceeds to make idle chit chat for 10-15 minutes. We kept thinking when this tour was going to start as he only seemed interested in telling us about his degrees and other idle chatter not related to the subject. He took us to 4 sites but as none of us had state passes to stay in the park areas he was more concerned about us getting towed than about the actual site. By the time we got to Cathedral Rock most of us had had about enough, parking on the side road, not giving out information relevant to the subject and being very dogged about not parking in the parking lots. The side of the road at this particular site did not have enough room for not only the 5 vehicles, but the dip into the rocks was well over 6-9 inches and we all had rental vehicles except for one couple. Then he took us to the Mesa at the airport completely discounting the vortex at the juniper, then a 'potty' break up at the airport.

In the end you do get what you pay for. $20.00 seemed like a great way to be introduced to the vortexes and a pleasant 3 hr morning but in the end the frustration and aggravation was just not worth it. Pay for a real tour. Not with this guy who can't look you in the eye, mumbles, throws out intellectual verbage like garbage and is basically an educated snob.

Other than that the hotel and their staff were first rate like I mentioned earlier. Four star rating for the hotel and would definitely return again one star for the tour!

We visited the Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort at the end of January, 2012. There were 3 of us travelling, and we wanted somewhere different, with lots to do and see....and we got it!
We had a very spacious studio apartment with a queen bed and pull-out sofa, a mini - kitchen with everything except an oven, and a HUGE bathroom
The resort is very well kept, with very pleasant staff and lovely surroundings.
Sedona itself is spectacular - it is everything you could want and more. As it was January, we had perfect weather for touring. We logged a total of 1200 miles on our rented vehicle (from Phoenix - get a 6 cyl - worth it when you're travelling up to 8000 ft!!).
We visited the Grand Canyon twice, visited Jerome, Prescott and Prescott Valley, and went on the greatest Pink Jeep Tour!
This is a nicely located resort - you can drive easily to any number of destinations and be in the middle of the most spectacular red rocks I have ever seen. And from desert and arid landscape to rolling hills of evergreen trees.
I would highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: There is really no room that is not a great room....I'm sure they are all just right!
