First of all we love the outdoors and hiking adventures avail in this area, but if you are planning an outdoor adventure or a hike in this area I would suggest you do it EARLY morning OR Nov Thru April .Not in late july as we did,the heat catchs up with you and zaps you faster than you think, even if you take all the precautions they suggest.Other than the extreme heat this is definitley a place youll want to add to your bucket list, its truly Heaven On Earth!

our family of 4 rented a tomcar vehicle for 4 hours and had an excellent time. The woman at the center was so helpful in getting us oriented, gave me tips as I am afraid of heights. The maps they give you are easy to follow and their are descriptions of the sights on the back. T he tomcar is excellent for touring the area, can drive through just about anything. we were glad we chose this self guided tour, could do things at our own pace in our own vehicle. Had a lot of fun, would do it again.

Was there with a group of 7 guys...We had a blast, definitely recommend this for anyone that likes exploring the outdoors. we had a few setbacks in our time there but nothing that wasn't taken care of. Great Service! Many of us were first timers and they were comfortable driving their atv in about an hour. Go to off road trail #1 first...its very short, however a good place for first timers to pick up on. We went to the far ones first and first timers had to drive on the street for several miles and relativity high speeds. Take a Camera!! stunning views.. If you have the time you really should do the Full day rental...

My family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children (ages 10 & 13) were in Arizona May 19-26, 2012. We spent just a night in Sedona before heading out to have fun in the 'red rock' desert. We chose Sedona Off Road Center on a recommendation of a friend. They were very easy to deal with and book. When we arrived the morning of our ride, she had upgraded us from 2 2-seater cars to 2 4-seater cars. She quickly realized that our family has done quading and off-roading before, so she gave us a 3 intermediate routes. The routes were lots of fun! It gave us varied terrain to drive on and so much to see and enjoy. The bottles of water they gave us were a necessity! We had a great 4 hour trip. Sadly, on our last trail - on our way back to town, our tomcar stalled out. We were concerned about being stuck out in the desert with a crapped out car. My husband did finally get the car started. We mentioned this to the center and she was very apologetic and concerned. She also did offer us some money back to help make up for our issue. We would certainly recommend this company to anyone and would certainly use them if we found ourselves in Arizona again. A great day to be had!!

We rented a Tomcar (2,3,4 passenger ATV) for an afternoon (4 hours) and had a great time. The cars are easy to drive (after a few minutes of getting used to them). Instructions on driving and courtesy/safety on the trails was well done by the staff. Cars come complete with cooler and cold water on the back, a map of the trails (with directions on how to find them and what you'll see - printed directions were a little hard to follow for some of the trails as they all seem to start down a street in a subdivision), driving/sunglasses (in case you don't have yours) and a full tank of gas (four hours of rough trail driving and we only used about half a tank - $5.00 to refill). They suggested trails to follow to get used to the car, then for more adventure. We found that four hours was just not enough to get done the 3 trails they suggested to us (we really had to push to finish the last trail and get back before they closed up at 5:00 pm). The first trail out to a pioneer cabin was good practice to get used to the vehicle, the second trail to see the Seven Pools was lots more fun, as you had to do a lot of climbing over boulders and steep inclines, but the vehicle had no problem manouvering. The last trail up to a view point over the town was just a little too long/far and any four wheel drive vehicle could do it (if you're looking for good shots of the town, area, this one would be better in the morning, as the sun sets in front of you in the afternoon, so any photos just get washed out with the bright sunshine).

Would I do this again --- you bet, only next time I'd take it for the whole day and try more trails.
