Its been a while since we've gone to Sedona; we weren't sure where to stay but knew we didn't want to stay in the shopping area. Someone recommended Sky Ranch. I was a bit concerned about it being near an airport and would we be in a flight path. But the price and the reviews sold us. I am so glad we did this! The airport is there, but its for small tour planes and we only noticed them when we ate at the little restaurant. Its out of the way enough to be quiet, and yet very easy to get around to the parts of the town we wanted to see. There is a nearby restaurant that serves good food and does room service (we often had our breakfast out on the viewing area; just lovely!) The rooms are nice sized; older, but very comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to help in any way. tWe had a garden view which was nice, but I plan to pay a little more to get a rim view next time around. There is a pool and a jacuzzi that we used every day. My only complaint was the dogs in the next room - barked all day. I went to the office to tell them - they immediately contacted the owner by phone. They told us that if the owner did not comply, they have a policy in how to deal with the situation. We were sorry to leave the place - but will be back soon!

Room Tip: Its really worth it to spend a little more and get a rim view.

Can't say enough about what a great place this is. Came for a 3 night girls trip and had a wonderful time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is old but well maintained and clean. Great views and grounds.

I would recommend the Sky Ranch Lodge but would probably not personally stay here again. This place is not perfect but it is nice; however, the price was great and if I had wanted a perfect experience I would have had to pay 2 or 3 x the amount we paid here. For us, this was a good experience. Although there are reviews on T/A that indicate that the rooms need updated, I found the room to be cozy and clean. I loved the fact that the room had a back door that could access the garden area and pool. The grounds were very pretty and well maintained. As seen in photos, the Sky Ranch Lodge looks like a compound of duplex type buildings. The wine bar area and the overview area are very pretty. The views from the overview area were spectacular at sunset but quite crowded. There are bistro tables lining the fence and there were people seated in all of these, so in order to take pictures, I felt like I was constantly in somebody's way or overstepping into someone else's territory. The public access area looked less crowded and just as nice for viewing the area. Also, the pool area needs some maintenance, and the hot tub smelled so strongly of chemicals that it was hard to sit in for long. All in all, a good deal for those who want to enjoy Sedona and do not want to spend the money and/or need the resort/spa experience. Sedona is absolutely gorgeous and I hope we return someday for a longer visit!

The view is the highlight of this property they also have good landscaping through out the property. The rooms are very spacious but the bathroom is tight and still using keys for the rooms that you can unintentionally double lock yourself out of the room and then need maintenance to get a special key that is locked up to open your room for you. They have a Wine bistro on-site and beverages available but you will either have to go to the airport which is in walking distance or to town for food, the road to the property has two sight-seeing spots on it with one right next to the property and gets a lot of traffic for sunset viewing. The beds were OK with a good mattress but just a box for the box-springs, UV light showed multiple stains on the floor TV is about 24" square tube, Internet had issues but signal was good.

Room Tip: Try to get a rim-side room away from the public viewing area.

This charming older property is up near airport Mesa, one of the best places for watching the sunset in Sedona. We got a bottle of wine from the wine bar and sat on a bench under a twisting juniper tree and became observe d in that most amazing spectacle, so beautiful. The ranch is really an oasis with a running stream and gardens meandering through the cottages. The rooms are large and spacious with microwave, fridge coffee and nice seating outside each unit. The staff was very helpful and arranged for me to have an early a.m. Jeep tour with a very knowledgable guide who shared so much of the plant, Indian and spiritual lore of Sedona...he even played the flute while we're on some of the more sacred vortexes. Good value for money. Because of the beautiful location they have many weddings on the weekend so probably not the best time to go but we would have liked to spend another night. They also have a lovely pool.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the canyons have the best views for sunset watching but they also have a point outl...

We spent a night here and couldn't have found a better place. We tried to stay one more night but regretfully it was sold out. Comfy bed, a kitchen area with micro, fridge, toaster, coffee. A fireplace for those who stay in winter. super view of the mountains from the patio and we watched the sun go down.

Breakfast at the Mesa Grille about 500 yards away was super, and you can watch the planes take off!

Room Tip: If you can get a room overlooking the mountain, ours was 231. Our friends in 252 had smaller less...

We spent one night here and asked for another night the next morning but none were available. I thought it was a lovely place. The views we had from our deck/balcony were great. We saw the Red Rocks and the city below. Sky Ranch is aptly named as you go up a huge hill to get there. The place has sweet little gardens all about. Our room had a skylight which made it bright and cheerful in the entry/kitchenette area. The bed area was large and very clean. The public areas are welcoming with the wine/beer bar and the sunset garden (which is where weddings must be held). The pool looked nice also. It was convenient to have the airport restaurant just a block or two walk away. We ate supper there. You are away from the hustle and bustle of the city when you stay here and it was very relaxing for us.
