“Romance in the Red Rocks”

Journeying from Lake Powell to Grand Canyon to Sedona was a marvelous snap shot of the wonders of our Western country. Spent two nights at lower L'Auberge and dined creekside on my birthday. JUST A GREAT SETTING with attentive and friendly staff. Even offers special 'talks' on the geology and stars of Sedona. By all means a choice that won't disappoint!!!!

Room Tip: Stayed in the lodge rather than a separate suite and was most satisfied...

My husband and I chose this hotel because it was dog-friendly, and it exceeded our expectations. The room/garden cabin was lovely. The restaurant by the creek was fabulous. The staff was well-trained and excellent. We can't wait to return!

Great Hotel with awesome room and views. Creek side restaurant is very cozy. Great service. We only spent one night but would come back for sure. We stayed in the mountain suite. We hated to leave. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would say you wont be disappointed at all.

Room Tip: Room choice would depend on if you want smaller creek side cabin or mountain view.

This setting for the hotel is great. It's along the creek in downtown Sedona. Very peaceful and serene, surrounded by a forest. Note that the one drawback of this oasis setting is that you can't really see the red rocks from the property (you're surrounded by trees). There seemed to be newer buildings on the side away from the creek that may have been high enough to see some rocks but the original property cannot. The part we stayed in had a lodge type feeling. There were 4 rooms in the building that shared a common area and deck. Would be great for groups. We also had our own private balcony. Room was very large with a great bathroom. Service was excellent. The bar was great and restaurant was amazing (see seperate review). Also, the outside "wine bar" was really neat. I put wine bar in quotes because it's basically just the patio with big fire pits that you share with others. It was a great setting. The hotel is located in downtown Sedona but be warned, it's not that close to downtown. Basically, it is down a cliff from the main street with no stairs up the cliff so you have to walk a very long street up and then back into Sedona (look at a map and you'll understand). Not really a pedestrian walkway at night (it's VERY dark and no sidewalk). The hotel provides a shuttle -- either a van or a golf cart-- up to the main street so it's not a problem and the walk is only about 10 minutes at most but may be too steep for some. I would highly recommend this place. It's very romantic.

My wife and I ate dinner creek side and had an absolute flawless dinner and experience. Flowing water, ducks, squirrels, and the most attentive and perfectly prepared food you could ask for. I had many Bushmills, my wife had beer, we had two appetizers, two main courses, two desserts and we paid just less that 200.00 it was worth every penny. You won't regret it!

We stayed two nights in the basic cottage just a few steps away from the creek near the restaurant. Our experience from arrival thru departure was 5 star. It's the little touches that add so much to an experience. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable sitting area facing the fireplace. It was too warm to have the fireplace turned on at night, but the housekeeping staff had tea light candles in place of a roaring fire. It did indeed add to the atmosphere. In these days of cut-backs, it was so nice to have evening turn-down service. This is a non-tipping resort, (other than spa services and restaurant)...and I have to say that all of the staff was most pleasant and helpful. The room has coffee maker with coffee and tea, and a small refrigerator stocked with two bottles of water. The housekeeping staff keeps the ice bucket full. A lot of attention to details throughout the ideally located property made our stay really pleasant beyond our expectations. If you want to have dinner in the creekside restaurant, be sure to make reservations in advance.

Room Tip: Splurge on one of the cottages. Truly worth it.

My friend and I have just returned from 3 nights a L'Auberge and we are still talking about it. Now this is the way to run a hotel. The staff from those at the entrance who parked our car and ferried us into town to the restaurant personnel to the young man who turned down our bed were generous and kind and appropriate. Best part is no tipping allowed, which made it relaxing for us. The restaurant with tables creekside is a must, and is probably the best restaurant in town.

Room Tip: We were in the original lodge, which were the lowest priced room. We will probably look into the se...
