We love to take our dog on this hike as it's nice and long, never too steep or rocky, has plenty of shade on hot & sunny days, and has a nice little creek for the dog to splash around in. This would also be a great hike for a family or someone that wants a nice, long, easy hike. It's very scenic and green, and nice change of pace from many of the other trails in Sedona...the only downside is that parking is limited, so get there early or be prepared to wait for a spot to open.

This trail is known as the best Fall trail in Sedona, if not one of the best in Sedona. The beauty of the Fall leaves against the creek is the perfect hike. You meander over creeks on large rocks, easy to moderate hike and gorgeous rocks! There is an additional charge for cars. Get their early to gain access! It is north on 89A up in Oak Creek Canyon.

This is an easy trail for families. Lots for the kids to look at and that great Sedona view the adults are looking for. You cross the creek several times so be prepared to get your feet wet, but just a bit. Fall is the best time for this hike. The fall colors are amazing.

just lovely, long and varied hike, moderate effort, try to go at an off time as it is a very popular hike.

I found this hike to be fairly easy—though 6 miles long--and the scenery was just amazing! I went early, at around 9 am and there was already a line of cars to park, I was lucky enough to grab one of the last spots so I do recommend going early. It was $9 to park and worth every penny, there are restrooms, picnic tables, and water fountains available. It was about 50 degrees in October when I set out but the temperature had climbed to about 75-80 when I was done—dress in layers!! It was surreal walking around inside a canyon, gazing at the colorful canyon walls, admiring the beautiful fall foliage (which reminded me of fall on the east coast!), and even crossing over a creek occasionally. It was interesting to see the landscape change so often while in the canyon, I took about 100 pictures and saw several professional photographers along the way. I hiked this alone and felt very safe and comfortable the entire time as you constantly pass people of every age going in and coming out, lots of people even had their pups with them. If you hike the Red rocks often I definitely recommending doing this hike as it is a completely different experience.
