“beautiful place”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

The detour around the resort is a pain, but the canyon itself is beyond compare. The rocks have an infinite variety, and most turns of the path yield surprises.

“Beautiful Hike, Lots of Varied Scenery”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

While staying at Enchantment, we hiked the trail to Kachina woman and also deep into the canyon. Both times we were treated to a feast for our eyes, amazing rock formations, million dollar views, and uniquely a change in terrain from sandy dessert, to snowy hills to pine forest!

“Good Vortex and Views”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

My favorite of the 4 tails that I hiked. The road to the trail-head has an unnaturally low 35mph speed limit for an unpopulated area, so watch for the hidden revenue generating police. This road is listed on the speedtrap website. Let the locals pass you, they won't get stopped. The police want tourist dollars.

“Vortexes and Oaks”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

The head of the canyon is marked by a female vortex on the east that can be climbed if you have the skill. A local climbed it and played a recorder that was particularly enchanting. Up the canyon and to the west, the flora turns into an oak forest.

“Short, moderate hike.”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Very pretty setting, as is the entire area. This is a hike for a
person who wants a moderate hike with some elevation.
Red mud on the lower trail if rainy or snowy, and watch your
step on upper rocks if wet.
