We arrived late at night for three following days based in Sedona. First time visit. Aeroplan points on US Airways, Enterprise promotional car rental. Prebooked all online, including at the Los Abrigados Resort. Very happy with the resort, facilities, accommodation and history.

Awoke the next morning to clear blue sky and stunning red rock mountains. Off to find Chamber arriving about 9:30 on a Sunday morning and surprised to find the visitor centre crowded, very busy, many staff, volunteers, rangers eager to help the tourist traffic volume.

Conclusion was Grand Canyon including IMAX and Jerome day trips and lots of drives, trekking, and restaurants about Sedona. Purchased and since read historical books on both Jeroma and Sedona. Lots more to see and do. We will be back, perhaps scheduled around the Sedona Marathon early February next year.

Our viewpoint is not the average tourist's one so perhaps we are a little harsh here - the Visitors Center is doubtlessly good at what it does despite not enough parking (!). I guess we simply feel the SOACC could better represent locals - but maybe it's asking too much. For tourists, do see the Visitors Center for tips on things to see here - it's worth it.

Really great group of local volunteers who will do their best to highlight dining and activities and as well as help with lodging. Good place to learn the lay of the land and plan your visit-whether several hours or a week.

Had no idea this place was so spectacular...We had lived in AZ several years ago but never got to Sedona...we were on a business trip and added on a few days for pleasure
seeing photos does not do it justice...one has to experience the WOW factor of this spectacular place....I could only imagine early man thinking the mountain range was the end of the earth! I am referring to all of the free activities , such as driving, etc, hiking, etc.

There are many travel centers in Sedona that appeared to us to offer free information. We were just interested in a couple of maps and suggestions for our stay and ended up listening to a high-pressure sales pitch for tours of a new housing development. We shortly found out that you need to go to the Chamber of Commerce for that information. The people there were extremely helpful, patient and offered maps and more information than we could absorb. It is a must for a first time visit to Sedona!
