Owner description: This overlook combines a scenic view with shopping opportunities for Native American arts and crafts.

This is a must-stop when heading into or out of Oak Creek Canyon. Either to brace yourself before or take a breather after the drive. The views down the canyon are gorgeous. Several vendors selling Native American arts. Unfortunately, the AZ DOT has let the place run down. Bathrooms closed, garbage cans overflowing, trail closed. Arizona is a "low tax State" but I guess you get what you pay for.

The scenery is spectacular! Looking right or left the mountain scapes are breathtaking. Thankfully there are several great areas to pull over, get out and start shooting pictures. Try to go at sunrise or sunset for the best lighting.

I am not a height person and I detest winding roads with straight down drop offs. 2.2 miles of Oak Creek Canyon road is just that. The only way to see it with white knuckling it is at the overlook. It really is amazing to see. There are native American stands selling pottery and jewelry on the path to the overlooks. I could spend a long time at the overlook but eventually, you have to drive down!

We enjoyed the ride from Sedona to get to the vista. However, be warned if you are afraid of traveling on very steep, hairpin turns. The last few miles before the vista could be a challenge.
Having said that the views are beautiful and worth the trip. There are also a number of native americans selling various tourist items, many of which are of good quality. We took many pictures of the canyon from here and they turned out very good.

The views from here are breathtaking! There is an indian marketplace set up here and although they had beautiful stuff, was a bit expensive for my budget.
