“Great views, awesome people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

We were only in Sedona for a short time and our concierge suggested Red Rock State Park. We wanted to make sure we went to all the parks that were offering a Junior Ranger Program for our 6 year old. This park was one of them. We got to the gate and were unaware you had to pay to enter, but it was only $10. That was worth our money. We got there around 9:50 and they were offering a free guided hike so we decided to join the group. Scott was our guide and he was so informative and the hike was easy enough for my 6 year old. The hike was pretty long, about 2 hours and he took us to a great view. Scott even offered to take photos of everyone once we got to a great view. After that we went back to the visitors center and my son did a packet and was sworn in as a Junior Ranger. Really cute and exciting for him. They gave him a "badge" (a pin) and a poster of all the State Parks so that he can try and get a badge from each one. Everyone there was really friendly and the park was beautiful!

“A sight to recall when you're having a bad day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2013

A camera cannot do justice to the beauty of Red Rock State Park. Views differ as you see them from various angles during your drive. If you are having a bad day at work, recalling these magnificent Red Rock formations is a perfect way to get you thru the day.

“Not a fave”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

Some views, but I came with my dog, she needed to pee, and I got escorted from the grounds like I was a criminal. Not friendly or welcoming at all. There are better places to visit.

“Do it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

This is a tremendous place to visit when not in a hurry and when you have a camera. The red rock formations are beautiful. The noise in the creek gurgling is soothing. Beyond th flat rock area are many special places as indicated by the many people claiming it to be a powerful vortex and marking their spots appropriately. There are comfortable benches to sit on in the park area. Above all the scenery is fantastic.
