We were kind of questioning doing this hike based on the reviews about the terrible road and needing a 4x4. We went to the ranger station to get a pass, and were informed there is an easy way to get to this trail. The road to it is paved - rental car companies rejoice! Here is the better way - take Dry Canyon Road all the way to the end where there is a T intersection. Turn right and park at the first trail head. This will be marked as Mescal trail. This trail is well marked as you walk it, and connects up to the trail for Devil's Bridge. The whole hike is about 4 miles round trip, and well worth it. Up until you get to the sign-in ledger near Devil's Bridge, the trail is pretty easy.
