Owner description: Breathtaking in its red rock beauty, the Canyon is a spectacular 16-mile gorge with streams and waterfalls between sheer rock walls.

This is an easy but quite long hike. Definitely different from the other hiking trails in sedona. Very green it looks like a northern forest.

I would love to find a place to stay for a month. But have found that this area is very pricey and limited housing. Which is good since there are so many beautiful areas to view. Glad I don't have to look over plots of condo's!
The people are friendly and the restaurants are good and usually within walking distance to most hotels. Not many chain hotels but the local motels are much nicer.
I may regret giving this area high marks since it is my favorite place to vacation.

What a beautiful place. Magical. Lovely to just drive through. Lots of scenic viewpoints. If you stop at the Tourist Info places they will try to sell you a time share. Stay away! Loved the antique store there in Oak Creek.

It is a magnificent drive from Flagstaff to Sedona on 89A and not to be missed. We were unable to hike in the canyon because it was so very crowded. Traffic throughout the area was practically at a standstill. Such a beautiful place, but WAY TOO MANY people.

We started down this road on Saturday but it was unbelievable crowded, bumper to bumper traffic, no parking spots, trapped in parking areas by others coming in behind. I'm sure if we had gotten out of the car we would have had many people walking around, difficult to get clear pictures. So the best thing was that we woke up early Sunday morning and decided to try it again. What a difference! We had the road to ourselves. Stopped everywhere we felt like. It was lovely to walk under the trees without another soul there, take all the pictures we wanted in peace and quiet. The views were spectacular, especially in the morning light.
