This scenic highway 89A, actually goes through some of the most spectacular scenery you will see in Arizona. From Prescott, across Mingus Mountain, through Sedona, on up the canyon, winding to the top where it plateaus in the high desert of Flagstaff. Be sure to pull off at the top of the canyon at the overlook and look back where you have just driven. It's beautiful any time of year. Usually at this pull out there are people from the Navajo and Hopi tribes selling beautiful handmade wares. A drive you will remember!

“Great drive”

This is one of the most spectacular drives ever, good roads, lots of places to stop to take photos, and an Indian market along the way

“Not to be missed.”

Loved Slide Rock State Park which features a natural creek that allows you to "slide". It also includes an apple orchard that was once a working farm. Wonderful.

“WOW!!!”

This is one fabulous drive, with one of the most convoluted "twisty" sections we've ever driven on. The views are stunning. Very few places to pull over, but just keep your eyes open. Every turn is a treat.

“Very beautiful”

We took a trip to the Grand Canyon & drove 89 South from there to Sedona. We were not prepared for the gorgeous canyons & mountains on this drive. We would recommend it to anyone coming to this area. My husband also took a helicopter ride the next morning to see even more.
