This is such a pretty drive that it's a shame that there couldn't be more turnouts to stop and enjoy the beautiful views. We were lucky enough to see it with a snow on the rocks in the river and it was a photographer's dream!

“Breathe taking!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

The drive along SR-89A from Flagstaff to Sedona is absolutely breathe taking. This canyon is beautiful. It has some tent camping spots, picnic areas, a trout farm, and a state park along it's route.

“Grand entry”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

We entered Sedona from the North, {from Flagstaff] by coming into the hairpin turns into Oak Creek Canyon. It had snowed the weekend before and the white dressing on the stones and evergreens was the added bonus that turned this driving event into eye candy!

“It's a "MUST DO"”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Since we lived in AZ for several years we are well acquainted w/Sedonas Oak Creek Canyon. Our favorite drive/hike is one we found in the book Back Roads of Arizona. At the end of Verdi Valley School Rd. in Sedona(the street is located across from Outlet Mall)is Oak Creek Canyon. You can buy a day parking pass in town so you can park w/o fear of a ticket. There's ample parking for a visit during the week & they've really improved it since we were last there. Even have toilet facilities now. Once you get to the creek hike to the right towards Cathedral Rock...it's breath taking. So beautiful, we are always amazed at its' magnificence. You won't be sorry.
