“One of the country's top scenic drives for a reason!”
Reviewed April 2, 2012

For locals, the drive down the canyon never gets old, although we do get a bit impatient when behind a large motor home going 10-15 miles under the speed limit while passengers gawk at the beauty of the canyon. There is a great rest area pullout with Native American jewelry stands at the top of the super windy section heading down into Sedona, and it has great canyon vistas. The next section of windy road only takes 5-7 minutes to navigate but my sister always get carsick when we drive into Sedona this way (the alternate is to go down I-17 to exit 198 and drive in from the south and the Village of Oak Creek). If you want to take pictures, there are pullouts along the way to make it easy to satisfy your need for photos while being courteous to the others sharing the road with you.

“Very Scenic Drive”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

My wife and I drove this route to Flagstaff a week after the March Snowstorm. The river was running full and a few folks were taking advantage of the white water for kayaking. We stopped a number of the vistas and the sights from all of them are magnificent. The road is windy, and steep. The Park at the top provides a nice break and many vistas. The folks selling crafts at the park are friendly and pleasant to deal with.
