What can I say...fantastic..
My wife and I played here on the final day of the masters, being offered a deal after playing the Stadium course which took over 5 hours to complete.
The course was in tip top condition with it holding a major compition the following week. The greens were fast and true and the fairways superb. It's a very much risk and reward course making it as challenging as you want to play it. I'm a single h'capper and my wife is off 20 and the course was perfect for both of us giving both of us enough challenge to make it the best course we played while in Scottsdale and that includes the Stadium course.
Yet again the staff were perfect hosts and we ended up staying on to watch the final round of the masters enjoying the lovely food and ambiance the club had to offer.
This is certainly a course to play and a club to visit and we will definitely be back.
Well done TPC Scottsdale!!!

Bag and shop attendants were ok on the way in. Not really sincere...just going thru the motions. Rental clubs were very nice and comp balls are nice touch.

Starter was nice, talked us into 'enjoying' the round more by playing the more forward men's tees. Later I would feel this was just one more way of pumping us through and getting the cash register to ring more. We were all under 14 handicaps and all shot below our Cap.

We waited on every tee and appoach shot thru the first 6 holes. Then we saw the marshall between holes and were told to "pick it up". We got to the next hole to see the group in front finishing their tee shots.....annoying. Two holes later we were to told to "keep it up". More annoying.

At the turn we stopped to grab sandwiches and water. Got to the tee to find that we would not have to wait for the first time. Then we were yelled at by staff that we had fallen behind! Really annoying. Half way down the 10th we were confronted by TWO marshall. One parked right in my line of shot. I tried waiting then shot only to find him driving away while I was hitting.

They harrassed us until the 12th tee where we got to stand with the group in front and compare stories of the nut job marshalls. Waited on every shot on the way in and managed to get a comment on a drive by once more. REALLY ANNOYING.

We played in four hours and nine minutes. Felt like 2 hours and 10 hours at the same time.

Tee markers are extremely hard to distinguish. Green were mediocre. Poor for price.

Didn't enjoy the round at all. Course was easy and we were playing the wrong tees. When profit comes before experience it shows. Work on experience and you can charge whatever you want.

Never going back.....maybe my last TPC too.

The positives: Clubhouse; Staff; in general the course; speed of play (4 hours 16 minutes for 4 adult males); green speed 10.5; price...Arizona Republic ad rate of $64.50 for AZ residents 13 Feb.. peak season for snow birds; tee boxes and fairways were in very good shape
Negatives: By far the biggest turn-off was the condition of the greens... ball marks not repaired left the greens like a war zone (literally 100 or more on many greens); Tee markers designating blue, white, red.. are AMAZING DIFFICULT to differentiate...many folks commented re this; beers and sandwiches quite expensive... but expected that... no problem; beer cart only came around once in 18... starter had promised three times... we had to stop a ranger and ask for the cart; there are many corporate jets landing... about 1 per 5 minutes... but it wasn't a problem for any of us.

Bottomline, the course is not that difficult... (we are all about 12-14 handicappers)... and when you do get in trouble... (we do that a lot)... it's pretty forgiving to get out of trouble....

A lot of fun... and definitely will be back...
just not a WOW course.... many others in the Scottsdale and Tucson are superior

I recently organized a golf trip for myself and 6 friends to Scottsdale. We played the TPC Champions course twice during our stay and were overly impressed each time. We had planned to play the Stadium Course but were told when we arrived that the Champions Course was in better shape and was less than half price ($79.00 compared to over $200.00.) The course was in immaculate condition and we had a great day both times. The course is fairly tight but does not feature a lot of forced carries so it is playable by all levels of golfers. Pace was great and we finished in well under 4 hours. If you are not hung up about playing the course the Pro's play I would suggest the Champions Course. With the money you save you can play it again or treat yourself to a nice steak dinner somewhere.

It better be a day when you're going to play every shot you know. It's in excellent shape and well worth the $$
