“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

We just stayed 5 nights at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains. It was a really nice hotel. The rooms were very spacious. I was a little disappointed in the pool. It looked a lot larger on the website pictures. The staff was really friendly. The concierge helped us with lots of little details. I was sick for a couple of days and she told us how to find the nearest pharmacy. She set up tee times for my husband and was always available to answer questions. Our room was always clean with more than enough towels. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Our room was on the side facing the mountains. Very quiet.

Would stay here again and again. The service, room, property and location were perfect. We stayed here to pick up our pup and to fly home. They were very accommodating with convenient room with a pup. Another great Marriott property.

Although there were renovations underway when I stayed here I still had a pleasant stay. I had a large two room suite for the price of an average room in most other cities. Staff was very attentive and courteous. The complimentary breakfast each morning for business travelers was excellent. Great views of the golf course and a nice pool to relax in at the end of a long day at the office.

Upon checkin, the female staff member was professional and sweet. I discovered a discrepancy between the reservation made on my iPhone--which included breakfast and free Internet--and the confirmation. I took a screenshot of my iPhone reservation showing the breakfast. The nice female staff member told me that the screenshot made a good point. A rude male staff member interrupted and said, "It's a terrible point." She ended up giving my wife and I the free breakfast which was above average with pancakes, bacon, and lots of varieties of fresh fruit. Pretty comparable to a free Fairfield or SpringHill breakfast.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and designed nicely. The bed was softer than all other Marriott beds I've slept on including the Desert Villas in Scottsdale and the Park City Mountainside. I've yet to stay in a JW. The pool is 4 feet at its deepest but has a nice square layout and since it is close to the hotel it is shaded in parts throughout the day. Overall, this is a very nice property.

I stayed here over a weekend in June (low season) and found this hotel to be a super bargain. And a great place to stay if you are in Scottsdale. The staff and facilities and staff were excellent. The restaurant served an excellent buffet breakfast that is free for Marriott Rewards members with status. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

We were immediately greeted by friendly helpful bell service attendants and each staff member emulated the same warm and helpful behavior. We were upgraded to a room overlooking the golf course and experienced amazing sunsets. The room was clean and comfortable - a standard of Marriott properties. The pool was suffient with nice lounge chairs. It is within walking distance to two fantastic TPC golf courses. Convenient restaurants and shopping nearby. The only thing keeping it from a five star experience is the low flying aircraft. Actually somewhat interesting to watch but a little noisy. Overall it is a 4.5 star trip thanks to the great hosts. Thank you so much for providing us a room with a view!

Enjoyed three nights here with another couple. The location is great easy access to highway 101 and lots of restaurants. They have a great pool with nicely "padded" lounges. And the staff just can't do enough for you; they are all great. They meet your every need. Only one complaint, we had free wifi in our room as gold members, our friends are silver and did not. They would have been charged $12.95 a day. Instead they used the lobby, upstairs area and the pool area. That is just silly. Today, no one should be charging for wifi. Otherwise, great trip, great place

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool or one of the few with a balcony
