We went for a w/end getaway and after hearing 2 enthusiastic recommendations and trusting the Fairmont reputation we couldn't wait to stay in our Jr. Gold Suite. Every staff member was truly eager to please in a genuine and polite manner. The staff in the Gold Lounge were very hospitable and helpful, the breakfast, snacks, drinks and canapes delicious. The grounds are groomed with such attention that even the pebble landscaping appeared to be raked regularly. There was a dominant theme throughout the resort of earth, air, fire, water executed so gracefully that the sites and sounds pleased the senses at every turn, every accent seemed to be a work of art, it was truly mesmerizing.
The spa.... we cannot say enough about the spa, the landscaping, the waterfall!!!! the amenities in the change rooms, hot/cold tubs, inhalation room, steam room/dry sauna, luxurious towels, robes and slippers, teas and water, muffins and apples abound. the perfect setting for the perfect services. Both my husband and I would have enjoyed a hotter steam room/dry sauna, we could not work up a sweat which is a shame. but all other features were outstanding. I attended 3 yoga classes as a beginner and enjoyed the challenge of all 3. The third was on behalf of a local charity and held outside under the beautiful blue sky amongst the cacti and palm trees.. heaven! The spa body wrap was performed impeccably by Lisa, with a mission to bring me to the ultimate state of relaxation.
I was surprised as well that the shops had such lovely items. I purchased several pieces of clothing and a lovely pair of sandals at a great price.
The only disenchantments were in the restaurants, particularly the steakhouse. Our meal was wonderful, but the service was so attentive that the various staff (at least 6 of whom came to our table at one time or another in the period of less than an hour) actually became a nuisance. The food came too quickly, the follow-ups after that, then plate clearing and order of dessert. It didn't allow for a relaxing or lingering meal. No time to savour the surroundings, engage in conversation, mentally digest the menu, understand that in the steakhouse you needed to order sides to the meat entree, digest the entree before dessert. Quick service is appealing at times (before a show), but for a resort where there are plenty of empty tables, and boasts spa services, i do not see the need to rush guests through what should be a gastro-spa experience of its own. This was similar in all restaurants.
Surprisingly, the resort was completely booked Saturday night for various events, conferences, a wedding, holiday party, yet we hardly saw any more than 30 people at the outdoor bar or 10 at the main pool at once. It was the strangest thing.
There is so much more that could be said, details to add, but hopefully the picture is clear, this is a luxury spa resort which would not disappoint. We cannot wait to come back and bring our children. There is something for everyone at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.

I found the hotel/resort to be a notch above the AZ Biltmore... A real first-class & beautiful property. The staff we encountered were exceptional, that was one of the big take-away experiences. The incidental costs, such $10 parking as a hotel guest ($20 for valet) was not so great. To top it off, there is even a jab in the eye if you don't own a Hybrid car... Hybrid car owners park for free. We all know of the hyper-inflated priced snaks & beverages in that little fridge, in the cabinet by the TV w/ the free HBO... But why put a $6 bottle of water plain on the hall counter? Odd...

Back to one of my favorite destinations... The hotel is holiday festive... great decor!! Bellman are awesome... front desk accommodating and spa is one of my favorites.. albeit a little high priced... I got some great deals for my room on hotels.com ... We had a fantastic dinner at Michael Mina's Bourbon steak... Saturday night busy... LOTS of food! Great steak!! Service would bet 4 out of 5 stars... had a few bumps.. but nothing that really took away from the experience. Always enjoy this resort & will be back.. VERY SOON!

We found the hotel to be very high quality with very good service by the staff, but were a little dismayed to learn that, eg our resort fees didn't cover things like use of the tennis courts, which were charged extra at usd24 per hour!

Overall, we liked the place but may choose somewhere else in future

The ambiance of this place is incredibly peaceful. The gardens and patios and fireplaces made it a warm, welcoming place to wake up in in the mornings and come home to in the evenings. All of the staff (bell staff, front desk, and security) are very kind and pleasant people.

One piece of constructive criticism: Late at night, there was no one out at the desk, but the office door was a crack open. Would've been nice if they had a little bell or something, so I wouldn't have had to awkwardly interject "excuse me" to an empty desk, nervously hoping that someone was in the back and could hear me. After a couple attempts, the manager emerged from the office, but I would have preferred if I had a less rude/obnoxious way of getting his attention.

Came here for a conference and truly felt comfortable while I was here. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, although it is VERY far from the airport and there were MINOR issues regarding charges not-mine on the account which were quickly resolved when I brought them to the accounting dept's attention. I probably wouldn't come here on business again, though, as the place is so far from everything, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the resort to others or to stay here on vacation.

Not only is this place BEAUTIFUL, but the spa's not bad and the pools are amazing.

I visited the Scottsdale Princess for a business meeting and have been there several times. The property is excellent, the staff is very good, and the overall experience is very positive.

I will say that the Fairmount chain seems to be one of the chains that wants to charge guests for everything--- no free internet access (unless you're in Fairmount Gold, a separate "hotel within a hotel"); bottled water is $5 or something, etc. I really don't understand that approach--- build into your prices things like free wi-fi and bottles of water (if Motel 6 can do it, you can too).

Anyway, it's a great place and I'd love to go back when I don't have to attend endless business meetings.
