The Fairmont Princess provides guests with everything they could possibly want for their vacation in the Scottsdale area. The rooms are outstanding. Large, clean, with all amenities including a nightly bed turndown. Food at the restaurants is fantastic! The pools and resort grounds are absolutely beautiful. Service is excellent. If you are looking for an inexpensive vacation look elsewhere. If you want to be pampered from head to toe and you are not worried about spending a little extra for great time this is the place to stay at.

We stayed at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess during the 4th of July weekend. The grounds were beautiful as was the spa. The hotel was extremely busy for the holiday, but the only area we found to be lacking
was the poolside food and service. My family enjoyed the pool with slides and fishing at the lake on the premises. The kids club was free and we enjoyed a day at the spa while my daughter spent the day making crafts and swimming.

We just got from a 4 night stay at the Fairmont Princess. The resort meets the 5 star rating in nearly all areas. The check-in process was smooth and service was excellent. My younger son had a separate check-up, which he loved. He was given a certificate for fishing at the resort and 2 gift certificates to spend in the gift shop or poolside. We were surprise to find that a room with double bed meant 2 full-size beds, they told us there were no rooms with queens beds. With 2 adults, 1 teenagers and an eleven year-old, we found the beds too small. We were pleasantly surprised that a larger room was offered to us and rollaways. The room are nicley decorated and has a huge closet and bathroom. The pools were awesome, all 3 of them. On Friday evening, a big screen was set up and a movie played at 8pm. It was great to swim and watch a movie at the same time. We tried "The Grill" restaurant and my husband and son ordered the steaks, which they said were very good. I had the fresh fish but it was not to my expectation, some parts of the fish was too salty. The dessert could have be better, we had ordered the chocolate molten cake with coconut ice cream. The presentation was exceptional, there was a chocolate palm tree drawn onto the plate, (which was quite impressive) and the ice cream was presented in a small hand-made coconut shell. The cake was wonderful but there was only about a round teaspoon of coconut ice cream. I am a dessert person so this did not go over well with me. We ate BBQ poolside one evening, and it was great. The resort also had a room for teens; x-box games, computers, movies. Overall, we had a memorable time and would highly recommend this resort.

We were excited to stay in this resort, given the positive reviews we read on this website and the pool facilities it offered for the kids. However, we quickly realized that the service levels were not up to par with some of the more established resorts like the Camelback.

When I made the reservation, we had requested an upgraded room and a nearby room for our babysitter. They assured me that this would not be a problem. However, upon check-in, finding these two rooms near one another seemed to be a near impossibility. I didn't even require the rooms to be next door -- rather just near one another. As a result of this "difficult request", it took over 45 minutes to check in, and we discovered that we were not in the upgraded room that I had payed for. I called to complain, and rather than moving us, they just apologized and provided the rate of the more basic room.

Service issues were also evident at the restaurants, including the breakfast place, where a request to sit outside when only one table was full, seemed to send the host into a dissaray. We were finally seated, but we noticed that parties that just automatically sat at an available table outside before requesting to be seated there made them nuts (this was summer, BTW, not a key time for outdoor seating.)

On a more favorable note, the pools were awesome, although the slide pool is packed. The movie offered while floating around the pool was a lot of fun. I'd encourage you to take advantage of the summer packages to see if the resort is up to snuff to warrant the more expensive prices charged during the other months of the year.

Stayed for 7 nights in May for a business conference. The rooms are nice, although sizes seem to vary greatly. I agree with the comments about housekeeping; each day something different was forgotten. Despite that, the hotel was able to provide a crib, microwave and baby bath for our infant son. Staff were always friendly. Restaurants Hacienda and Marquesa were both exceptional albeit expensive. Room service food not of the same caliber, but it rarely is! The resort is large and sprawling, but the grounds and pool areas are well kept.
I would recommend this hotel, especially at a discounted rate.

Our family of four ( 2 kids 11 and 14) stayed at the Princess in late June. I had gotten a great internet rate on a casita suite and they gave us a $100 food credit per day ( make sure to ask about special deals at check-in! Glenn at the front desk a nice guy!)
The casita was huge and beautiful. Private bedroom with king bed for the parents, and a separate sofa pull out and additional TV for the kids. The rooms were very clean but the patio area was dirty. Other reviews rave about the butler but he only showed up once with 4 plums then dissapeared.
It was so hot we lived at the pools-very clean and uncrowded. Had our pick of places to settle in. Poolside lunch service very good and not too pricey. Ate breakfast at the nearby Village Inn-highly recommended for a good, "normal price" meal. Ate one dinner at The Grill at the golf course. What a dissapointment! We have eaten at many lovely restaurants and don't mind paying alot if the food and service is exceptional. The Grill is a rip off with mediocre service. My baked potatoe was actually rotten inside.
We have also stayed at The Phoenician which is a more upscale hotel but we all preferred the Princess for its Southwest decor and atmosphere.

We just got back from 5 nights at the Fairmont Princess and it was better than I EVER imagined. We were there for our 15 year anniversary.
CHECK-IN: No waiting but we arrived on a weekday. Front desk very nice and accomodating. Had to wait for our room but provided us with couple drink coupons while waiting and walked around.
GROUNDS: Very very nice and plush even though such dry climate. Well maintained and clean.
ROOMS: I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness and it was CLEAN. We stayed in deluxe room which was recently updated. Very nice and spacious so we had room to spread out. Bathrooms were tiled and huge and had a large tub for two. Large walk in closet and plenty room for storage to keep stuff away. Safe in closet. Daily maid service and nightly turn-down service!!
POOL: Since we came on weekday - was nobody around. Weekend was busy but still room to lay out. Since have 5 pools including kids/splash pool - was not bombarded by lots of kids and noise. Quiet and relaxing. However on weekends at night they did movie on big screen out by pool so adults/kids could hang out in pool or on chairs and watch movie while enjoying a BBQ. How cool is that?! Service at pool was good and prompt. Food was very good and drinks excellent.
RESTAURANTS: Marquesa (mediterraean) was closed but just have to try next time. LaHacienda - good authentic mexican food and oh yes - you must try the margaritas! Little pricey for mexican but fun. The Grill - this is an awesome steak house. You must try the porterhouse. Very very nice atmospher and impeccable service. Hotel shuttles you to restaurant about 3 min. from property. Bistro - less formal restaurant but wonderful service and variety of menu choices.
STAFF: I have never experienced such service in any resort I stayed at. Everyone is friendly and accomodating. Bellman are always smiling and opening doors. Concierge is so helpful and even have preprinted maps directions to local things to do - malls, Grand Canyon... When you call down for anything from you they always greet you "Hello, Mr/Mrs. (last name)" May be little thing but it all adds up!
GOLF: My husband and brother-in-law went golfing. They played on the TPC stadium course (home of annual PGA tour open). For off season - it was only $80 for 18holes. May seem alot but was normally $250+ and it was tournament course. They said it was SPECTACULAR! One of the best courses around and worth every penny!
LOCATION: We rented car from Phoenix airport which was best thing we did. Easy to get to hotel from airport and only about 25 minutes. Scottsdale is beautiful and has so much to offer so you really need car. Plus if you self-park, it is free parking overnight. Resort is right off highway and easy to get to restaurants, mall, theatres....
CHECKOUT: Yes, it was busy but left on Monday, holiday. The staff did the best they could. You can always use the tv or drop box to check out.

We can't wait to come back - already want to plan next trip. INCREDIBLE!!
