The grounds couldn't be more beautiful. The pools are really nice. I wish they had an adults only pool. I heard this same complaint from others. The. Security at the pools was so intrusive and over the top. I didn't mind showing a wrist band but searching everyone's bag
for food and drinks they may be bringing in is obnoxious. They wouldn't even let me bring in water that said fairmont clearly on the label and was from the mini bar.
The staff was great and couldn't have been nicer.
We were disappointed the Mexican restaurant closed at 9 pm.

i have been staying at the Princess for the past 6 years. I
Eapecially like to stay there during the Christmas holidays. The grounds are beautifully decorated. For being in the desert, it becomes a winter wonderland.
There is a large outdoor iceskating rink to add to the Christmas Spirit.
The rooms are spacious and decorated 5 star quality. The bathrooms are large and there is lots of closet space!
I suggest getting a room near the main building. It can be quite a hike to the rooms due to the property being widespread. They do offer golf cart services to drive you to the room as well.
The restaurants are excellent
And the outdoor patio bar is fun.

I have ordered in room dining several times and still chuckle when they plug in a toaster for fresh toast!

Dear Diann W,

Your post made us smile! We are delighted to see you enjoy our resort, particularly over the holidays, and your toast freshly toasted! This year, along with the Lagoon Lights, 4-story musical tree and Princess Express train, we are adding a few more surprises for the holidays, including a magical snowfall, Santa's workshop and amazing 3-D video mapping shows nightly in our main plaza. The tree lighting is November 21 and the "Christmas at the Princess" festival runs through January 5, 2014. We look forward to welcoming you back to our winter wonderland in Scottsdale!

Sincerely,

Valerie Lee

We just love to take a long weekend to Scottsdale, Arizona and stay at the beautiful Fairmont Princess Resort. It is one of our favorite places to relax and pamper ourselves! The property is beautiful and very manicured. It has a rose garden and lots of water features and a lake for fishing...the little kids love it! The PGA golf course backs up to the resort, so you see golfers coming and going. The rooms are very nice. We stayed in a "Casita" this trip, which is like a private villa on the property. This was down from the main hotel building. It was wonderful. The king size bed was great, walk-in closet with robe, large bathroom with double sinks, large sunken bathtub and a wrap-around shower big enough for a party! ha ha ( we didn't have a party!) We spent one day at the Well & Being Spa on the property and pampered ourselves with a good work-out, a wonderful salad for lunch and a 90 minute massage. The upstairs pool is only for guests at the Spa, so it was nice...(no kids).. There are lots of restaurants and lots of shopping in Scottsdale and the Phoenix area, so check it out if you have never been there! Its a great trip!

We decided to take a quick weekend trip for a getaway. This resort was very peaceful and perfect for us. The rooms are casita style and we upgraded to their club which was very nice. Simple but good breakfast and a nice lounge area to relax in. Although drinks are not included they do offer a good variety of wines.

We did find some bugs in our room however we figured since it was the middle of the summer and we were on the ground floor this should be expected as they crawl in under doors, etc. Not a big deal, just watch as you walk around the room.

We had dinner at their restaurant La Hacienda and it was good. Very busy so I am guessing a hot spot in the area. We did enjoy a tequila flight which their Tequila Godess guided us through. Food was good. Beautiful pool area. Oddly enough they have a ZIP line you can pay to play on.

Room Tip: In the summer it can be very hot as you walk from your room to the lobby, restaurants, or car. They will come get you if you stay in a room farther out.

Excellent customer service and the spa is amazing. The rooftop adult pool is so relaxing. Upgrade to a Gold member as there are many benefits. The access to the Gold lounge is the best and the breakfast and afternoon snacks (included) were really good. The staff treat you like a star.
My husband and I don't usually stay a the same resort twice but would definitely go back for a visit.

Room Tip: Book a Gold member room, so many benefits including the Gold lounge and full access to the spa even if you don't book a treatment.
