“Business and Pleasure in Scottsdale Old Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We were in town for a business meeting held at this hotel. All aspects were professionally handled to our full satisfaction, and we're a pretty picky crew. Good staff, meeting rooms, technical support for phone and internet, great rooms, food and beverage service, etc. All in all a four-star experience. For five you'd have to go to something at double the price. I'll stick with the Marriott.

Rooms are huge. Had a good size balcony overlooking the pool. So close to everything for Spring Training, and in a great area of town. Walkable to an adorable area filled with restaurants, cafes and shops. Can't comment on the price, but breakfast was expensive.

Have stayed numerous times at this Marriott. Mostly on business. Courteous staff, generally well kept rooms, and excellent location for restaurants. During our stay at Spring training, which I would expect higher rates, the value for price came into question. At nearly double the normal rate, no free Internet, no newspaper, and promises made and not kept by front desk. Yes, convenient to Scottsdale Stadium. Staff still courteous. Value for rate questionable. Will still use for business only if at a corporate rate.

Room Tip: Get end of hallway. Away from elevators.

Been a gold member for years with Marriott. This location was up to par with other marriotts. Rooms were spacious and clean. Service was good, and it was located next to all the shops and galleries in old town Scottsdale. Room prices in this area however were a little steep and the beds were only doubles, instead of queens, making 4 in a room a little less comfortable unless you used the pullout couch.

The Scotsdale Marriott Suites in Old Town offers comfortable, spacious rooms with a friendly, enthusiastic staff to assist you throughout your stay. The rooms were very clean and functional, although the bathrooms would have been more efficient without the tub but with more sink space and a private toilet area. The central location of the hotel could not have been better. The area abounds in amazing dining options as you walk through Old Town and the Art District. Browsing through the shops in the area is a great way to spend the morning before lounging in the delightful pool area after lunch. There's seating near the bar off the lobby that opens out into a lovely patio area with tables, chairs, couches and firepits - a perfect location to sample some snacks with a cocktail any time throughout the day and evening. Fruit infused water is available in the lobby with the free newspapers and the coffee bar is open all day, an amenity that complements the free freshly baked cookies that are offered at the reception desk in the evenings. The entire staff from the welcoming valets to the gardener tending the property always greeted you with a smile and were eager to assist in any way to enhance your stay with them. Free WIFI and free onsite self parking would have been appreciated but the lack of both did not detract from the overall experience.

I've stayed here a number of times for work since I can walk to the local office from the hotel. It's a typical Marriott, clean comfortable rooms and usually very good service. They have a decent bar but even better is sitting outside with a drink by the fire pit. The food options in the hotel are just okay but there a number of very good places within walking distance.

I'm not sure if I just get upgraded because of my Marriott status but the rooms have always been suites with a separate bedroom area that can be closed off with a set of doors.

This hotel is always the first place I check when I'm headed to the Scottsdale area and as long as the prices are in line with the other nearby hotels I prefer to stay here.

No real negative experiences here. Staff were all very nice and efficient. room was good sized and comfortable. Bed was a little hard for me, but most hotel beds are. Pillows were either oversized synthetic or undersized down, didn't find either all that comfy. had room 303 overlooking the pool. Not too noisy in general, but if kids are playing down there, will hear some. Fairly quiet area for traffic, only heard what sounded like the garbage truck a couple times. Good location to walk to lots of nice restaurants and shops. Tried out the hot tub and pool, both were good. Ate breakfast there each morning, not super expensive and everything was pretty good.
