“Great for families, but expensive.”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

We celebrated my mother's 65th here, and the staff was amazing (including the babysitting company they use). My father must have called them 100+ times to make sure everything was set - I'm not exaggerating. We had 4 separated rooms in the same villa-like complex off to the east of the pool area. I thought our room was a bit small, but the master suite my parents had was quite nice. The pool area is very nice, but the heater was broken so the water was cold (the kids didn't mind). The girls loved the spa and the boys had a very good time on the golf course. We ate by the pool, tried their breakfast, and had dinner in their restaurant, and unfortunately the food was hit or miss. I'd probably go back if they had an off-season deal or promotion but I wouldn't pay full price.

Room Tip: The suite was very nice. I am not sure how the rooms are in the hotel, but they have balconies...

We are honored you chose to celebrate your mother's 65th birthday with us. We apologize for the unexpected malfunction of the pool heater, but are pleased to read it did not stop your family from enjoying the pool. Thank you so much for all of your feedback. Your comments help us improve.

In general the hotel itself is very nice, the staff fairly accomodating, the onsite food was decent and not too terribly overpriced.... we chose this hotel for 1 reason however, and that was the pool. Our stay was at the beginning of October and temperatures were around 30 degrees c, so the plan was to spend the afternoons at the pool. Problem was the pool itself was literally so cold it was all but impossible to get in, even to cool off, it was polar bear swim cold. The hot tub was the only water you could go in, which was not ideal in 30+ weather obviously. We, and everyone else at the pool who complained about the freezing water were told the generator to heat the pool was broken, although over our 4 day stay we never saw any attempts to rectify the problem. I in fact think that this was likely not the case, the water was too cold to occur naturally, it should have been warmer just being heated by the sun throughout the day, I suspect the staff at the pool were just too tired of explaining to irate guests that the pool was actually purposely kept at sub-zero temperatures for reasons unknown. Upon checkout I inquired if any of the $25/day resort fee we were charged went towards heating the pool and was told no, the pool is not heated. I then asked if the pool was cooled and the was told he was unsure. If you're looking for a hotel with a pool designed for human usage, this is not the one.

Room Tip: the patios on the third floor and larger than those on the 4th

We are sorry that you experienced the outage of our pool heater. It was an unexpected malfunction of the equipment, and the heater was replaced as quickly as possible. The pool temperature is back up to the 83 degree level that is maintained daily. Please plan to join us again in the future to swim and enjoy the pools!

This place is golden, we loved every part of it, make sure when you check in ask for the regency club card it's worth every part of it. Everyone here is friendly and at your every service, if your a golfer this is the place for you as you can leave the mrs/kids at the pool areas and off you go. The place isn't cheap but it's not meant to be cheap, there is an adults only pool area where you get full drink service and a family pool area with awesome waterside and basketball rings in the water.

Overall very happy with our stay and will be returning again one day soon.

Stayed here at the end of our 3 week road trip. It was absolutely fabulous. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were excellent. The pool and facilities were excellent too. It definitely felt like we were in a very upmarket posh hotel. We stayed with two children aged 12 and 14. Thoroughly enjoyable and will definitely return.

I have stayed at the Hyatt numerous times in the last 3 years and each time it is a treat. The staff is very personable and the service is suburb. They always make sure you have an enjoyable stay, even during the construction of the new pool. I have always looked forward to going back and seeing many of the Hyatt's employees. The rooms are quaint, but it is definitely worth spending the extra money for a suite during an extended stay. It is also worth spending the extra money and time at the spa; however, the pools at the resort are also a great option. It's nice having the two separate pools so adults can enjoy relaxing with drinks or enjoy the busy family pool with slide and other water activities. The resort is always has activities and events to enjoy. I cannot wait to go back and visit!! Thanks for a wonderful time!

We have stayed at this resort before and were impressed so we went back for more and boy were we disappointed. The resort did not offer everything that they said would be available such as the poolside café, the pool water was freezing, not heated, the restaurant did not have the breakfast buffet even though they said they did. The beds were so uncomfortable my daughter and I ended up sleeping on the floor which is completely unacceptable and when trying to fix this with the manager, they were not accommodating so we checked out a day early and were not offered a refund, plus they attempted to charge us for an early departure even though the room was prepaid for prior to checking in. Never again will I stay at this resort, I will stay at the Princess going forward which was a night and day difference with their resort, staff and accommodations as a whole. This ruined our family vacation/birthday/anniversary celebration.

Room Tip: Get a higher up floor so you don't hear the landscapers or noise from the bar

Thank you for your specific feedback. As you know from your previous stay, this is not the typical guest experience at our resort. We will follow up with the departments that have been mentioned to ensure that we have addressed any remaining issues. As you may have been advised, the lower pool temperature was the result of an unexpected malfunction of the pool heater which was replaced as quickly as possible. The pool temperature is back up to the 83 degree level that is maintained daily. We hope that you will join us again in the future for a more typical level of service and to swim and enjoy the pools

We stayed here in august with our two children. The hotel has just renovated all the pools and they are is amazing. Kids watched a movie outdoors beside the pool and thought that was great. They played for hours in those.pools. the rooms were nice and kept up well. The beds were comfortable. Great family hotel.
