“Glad to have Them at Gainey Village”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

We were anxious to try this new restaurant at Gainey Village as this is our neighborhood and we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and they were not distressed when I asked for a different table since I was seated near an ac vent and it felt cold. Everything we tried was delicious. I don't remember the names of everything but the cheese appetizer was good as were kabobs and a beef dish. Baklava was excellent. The service was excellent. Everyone was concerned if we had everything we needed or wanted. All our needs were happily met and we had a very enjoyable evening and look forward to going back

“Great Staff, Perfect Location”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

(To the rvw prev to this: Sorry but WE were the actual first Happy Hour Customers on Feb 20 :-)
You will have to go to the bar to a least experience Master Mixologist Joel. Joel takes great pride in his extensive knowledge of alcohol, mixes and blends. Joel has devised a great drink menu and serves you in the old style with a lot of extras - that all add up to the most pleasant bar experience - something that is failing these days quite a bit.
Tony, the owner, takes much pride in his new establishment.
I do hope to see more wine selection on the Happy Hour menu as well as extra bar food and possibly a 1/2 off wine bottle night. (I'm a big tapas fan).
Keep up the good work, see you again soon.

“We were their first happy hour customers ever!”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

This restaurant just begAn a happy hour this week. My daughter and I, along with my infant grandson,,went there and sat outside. The service was beyond terrific. The young man serving us also created the specialty cocktail list. He was delightful and so we'll informed. The food was very good. We split the huge anti pasta type plate and some spinach, cheese roll ups. They were very good. We will be back!

“Upscale Mediterranean Dining ...Grand Opening Feb. month end!!!”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Although open for business, the Grand Opening of this newer eatery isn't until February month end. This review, as is the others before, are written BEFORE the Grand Opening.

It is located in a large McCormack Ranch retail center off the South East corner of Scottsdale Road & Doubletree in (for those of you that remember) what previously was Bloom's. Although refurbished, the décor hasn't really changed...seating/setup exactly the same...modern, airy, spacious, exuding an upscale atmosphere....far from a stereotype Middle Eastern...like, for example, The Persian Room (somewhat fancy) or Eden's (ultra casual/no frills). As in most AZ eateries, the dress ranged from casual (Jeans) to slacks/shirt. Their menu is available on line; thought it was somewhat pricey. The bottom line of this review is that you must try it yourself to make the final decision.

Two of their combination plates for two was more than enough for six. All items were tasty...hummus, baba ghanouj, grape leaves, tabbouleh...no complaints. The falafel was nicely and tastily done. The varied main courses were very good. Beef Kebab (pricey?) was excellent very tender beef (two skewers); the Kafta Kebab very tasty (but one long piece); Shish Taouk [chicken kebab] (two skewers maybe a little overdone) and Orange Roughy (sp?) was excellent. The rice that accompanied the kebab dishes was OK Vs. memorable.

By the way, the beverages weren't cheap!

In summary, you are going to have to try it yourself to cast a vote...and yes, it is worth going there to do that.

“Good service can't make up for below average food”
Reviewed February 4, 2014 via mobile

We ate there a week ago with high hopes. Wait staff was very good and did their best but if that salmon is fresh and not frozen I'll eat my hat. They tried twice to cook it correctly ( slightly rare ) but it just wasn't to be; it tasted like canned salmon even if it looked like a fillet. My gin and tonic was also flat. Again, the waiter and manager who asked about the fish were attentive but I just was polite and ate it. Won't be back.
