The ValleyHo (built in the 50's) maintains it's mid-century modern coolness...if you're a wet rag this is not the place for you! During the summer months the hotel pool hosts live music on Saturdays with a hip pool scene. I would not recommend this hotel for families with young children. The hotel is located conventiently in the heart of old towne Scottsdale where the city comes to life at night...If you are looking for fun in sun or spring training pre/post parties this hotel is for you!

This a hotel that has definitely made up its mind of what it wants to be and has apparently stood the test to be able to maintain the reputation it carries. Period hotel that "Madmen" could shoot scenes at without having to redecorate. Great staff. Clean and well maintained. Modern bathroom and shower. Tower rooms with motor lodge two story wings with brick walls. Stayed on hotwire rate. Like idea of local hotels/restaurants over nationwide chains - especially when done well. Hotel Valley Ho is walkable to most things Scottsdale, on the free trolley route and reasonably priced.

Stayed at this hotel as a weekend girls trip. The location is great for exploring the shops, galleries and restaurants in Old Town part of Scottsdale on foot. The hotel has a decidedly retro, fun feel, with a lot of aqua coloring, 50s style furnishings, lots of cozy nooks and corners with fireplaces, a fun place to explore. Our double room was large, with a long counter that held all our suitcases. Average bathroom. Sliding door to a mini-patio. Out our front door was the large pool area with comfortable loungers, bar service during the day, and two hot tubs. Hotel restaurant was great, interesting food (get the kale salad), good service, nice outdoor dining area. Fitness center is in the taller part of hotel, overlooking the pool and seemed well equipped. We were accommodated last minute at the Spa, and treated very well. Service was polite and prompt. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get one of the rooms surrounding the pool.

Hotel Valley Ho is the perfect balance between luxury .convenience and the retro Hip Factor! Great spacious rooms with wonderful amenities. This hotel gets you in the mood real easy. The Pool is great for lounging in the sun or shade and the service is wonderful! great salads and cocktails by the pool! Cafe ZuZu is spectacular! Modern and retro at the same time. You will get the Don Draper vibe when you eat here. The food is great and the service is also. Breakfast on the patio is not to be missed. Great wines and Martinis are standard fare! Don't miss this Hotel for a fun quick getaway! Be sure to enjoy a cocktail on the Observation deck!

A retro styled hotel with excellent service across the board. I've stayed at the Kierland and Phoenician and this hotel has better all around service. Front desk staff is exceptionally helpful and attentive. Need anything? Ask for Rob, impossible to throw him off.

Clientele is hip and friendly, and noticeably fit. Poolside is very good with lots of selection for sun and shade, great food and drinks. The lobby bar is a happening place, and Ted is one of the finest bartenders (and baristas) that you can find.

My room was huge, two story with full kitchen and living room. Appliances were either Wolf or Sub Zero.

The management of this hotel really knows what they're doing. Everyone is friendly and well trained from housekeeping to valet. This would be my first choice for a return trip to the Scottsdale area. Just the location alone sets it above other hotels.. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, convenience stores, book stores, galleries you name. Heart of Old Scottsdale. Highly recommended.
