“Great food and environment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2014

My daughter & I dined here twice while staying at the Chaparral Suites. We had groupons for both nights, which were accepted without any problems. This bar and grille was a little bit hard to locate, as it is on the 4th floor at the back of the resort. But, once you know where it is, no problem. When you enter, you can either choose to sit in the dining area or the bar/grille area. We chose the bar and grille area both nights. They have probably 10 televisions with a variety of sports programs. My daughter is an avid NASCAR fan, so we chose to sit in front of that television. The bar area is typical, but there are also many tables which have very comfortable seats. The menu is typical for bar/grille along with some dinners such as prime rib, ribs, pork chops. My daughter ordered the personal pizza (which was enough for at least 2 people). She said it was absolutely delicious and she had enough to take back and put in the fridge for later. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ sandwich with salad and sweet potato fries. This was also so much food and was very delicious. These were so good the first time, we ordered them again the 2nd time. We also ordered the chocolate sundae, which was a brownie with ice cream and whipped cream and I think maybe drizzled with nuts and caramel? 2nd night we ordered the flourless peanut butter cake. It was amazing as well. Sweet peanut butter middle mixed with fudge and also a chocolate topping and a fudge sauce surrounding the dish. Both were big enough to share and extremely delicious! The prices were about $10 each for what we ordered and $5-7 for the desserts. Very reasonably priced for the quality, quantity, convenience of location and the atmosphere. Will visit again when in the area!

“A hidden gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2014

We visited 4th Floor on a recent staycation in Scottsdale. It's part of the Chaparral Suites hotel complex on Scottsdale Road, and we dined there as part of a package deal with the hotel. Summer resort rates in the Phoenix area tend to be deeply discounted, and Chaparral Suites offered a great rate with a $50 per day dining and beverage discount here. So we had several meals at 4th Floor to take advantage of the incentive.

As sports bar "veterans" and a couple who prefer more casual dining most of the time, we were pleasantly surprised here. It's hard to find, being located in the rear of the Chaparral Suites complex, but it's well worth checking out.

The review describing this place as more of a bar than a restaurant is probably on target, based on our experience this particular weekend. There's a spacious dining room, but is was barely occupied during our visits. Most of the crowd was in the adjacent bar, which features the usual selection of televisions for watching sports. One oddity was a horse racing network on one screen, which is unusual as 4th Floor is not an off-track betting place. The rest of the screens featured the usual pre-season football and baseball games. There are plenty of TVs for varied viewing on NFL Sundays.

The food was a bit above the usual fare for a sports bar. There's a wide selection of entrees as well as the normal "bar food", and we didn't sample the full dinners, preferring to stick with wings and sandwiches. I'm a certified Buffalo wing "addict" and make it a point to check out the wings at any new place I visit. 4th Floor didn't disappoint. Good sized and flavorful, cooked to my well-done preference. We also had a club sandwich and some other appetizers; all were fine.

Service was excellent. The servers are friendly and efficient, and the bartender pours an honest drink when one is in the mood for hard liquor.

Ambience: Well-cushioned chairs, plenty of tables as well as an average-sized bar. One nice thing about this place is that they don't go overboard with sports memorabilia such as banners of every NFL team, numerous jerseys hanging all over, etc. This type of "overdecorating" is a common occurrence in many sports bars, but 4th Floor got the balance between being a tavern as well as a sports joint just right.

All in all, a good value. The prices are reasonable (especially for Scottsdale, where many places have artificially inflated prices), and it's a cozy, comfortable place to hoist a few brewskies while watching your favorite TV sporting event. We'll be back the next time we're in the neighborhood.

“Nice sports bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2014

My husband and I visited Scottsdale for the July 4th weekend and found this sports bar for lunch one day. It's a bit hidden inside a hotel and odd to find (up an elevator, past many hotel rooms) but all was good. There were many TVs to watch sporting events; I bet it's great on a Sunday during football season. Food served was typical of a sports bar and was just fine. Everything was what was expected. The service was good.

“Very Good Food”

We enjoyed the very good food while staying at the Chaparral Suites. We used both room service and eating in the restaurant on several occasions.
