Everything is walking distance, but if it is a hot day, you can take the trolley. Lots and lots of galleries and shops, but they don't even start to open till 9 and most don't open until 11. Would be nice to walk this in the cooler hours of morning. Seemed a bit pricey if you wanted to buy something. We did thoroughly enjoy our walk about there! :)

Went to Old Town Scottsdale for the Art Walk on Thursday night. The art museums are open. Staff are very friendly even if you're just looking. Lots of shops and restaurants.

We loved strolling around Old Town in early evenings. It was a great place to eat and to shop for souveniers to bring back home to Texas. We only wished the stores would stay open longer; many of them closed at 5:00 pm.

Travel brochure said "Most western town in the West". I have no idea what they are referencing. The Camelback JW Marriot is western but the downtown is plain but expensive. No wooden sidewalks and horse hookups as described. Lots of shopping and a great Fashion Square Mall. Fun 2 tier golf driving range. Most restaurants not up to speed with the exception of Lo-Los Chicken and Waffles. We will return...love to lce skate at the Princess in the winter. Some sleazy adult video places intermingled with the cool and quaint 1950s Sugar Shack.
