This is a very pleasant place to stop and wander around. If you want to buy jewellery, wild west clothing or the like, you have certainly come to the right place. We visited the historical society's small but very informative museum before we wandered around the town. We were able to pick up a helpful guide which took us on a walking tour around the nearby streets. We spend a couple of hours trailing around, looking at various buildings and learning something of their history. There is a really attractive park by the library to chill out and relax - plenty of shade to protect you from the heat. If you are near Scottsdale, you can take half a day over pottering around the old town - it really is a very pleasant place to visit.

With so many bars in a small area, its a great place to visit with friends and bar hop. The clubs to charge a fee to enter, but many hotels will give you wristbands that allow you to visit several for no charge. Any night of the week, something fun is happening, and the DJ's are great. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a tourist paradise, or it could be, if you are selective. If you are expecting the West, forget it, go hiking instead. If you are expecting, great shopping, go to Scottsdale Fashion Square. If you love libraries, visit Civic Center - the art at the museum is dubious, although touted as avant garde - maybe, maybe not. Don't spend the money, go on a free day, which is Thursday. Do attend free cultural events at Civic Center, like the Latin Days coming up in November.

It's a bit over-rated...mostly souvenir stores and bars. It's fun to see the old architecture, however, but it seems very touristy.
