Old Town Tavern’s interior is pretty intimate and the crowd was laid-back on an NFL Playoff Saturday night in January. The main bar is relatively small and the stage is on the floor at one end. There is an additional area outside along the sidewalk where you can hear the music when the windows and doors are open, and a separate area next to the bar inside with a big screen TV for games where you can also hear the band. In the rear, there is an outdoor patio for smokers with a large projector for games. We were towards the rear inside and could actually talk while the band was playing; this was very nice. Our server was very efficient and friendly. There was no cover but Pinot Grigio by the glass was $12.00. The good news was our designated driver had a bottomless glass of soda for $2.00. As Scottsdale bars go, this bar is non pretentious and a decent place to grab a drink and hear a few songs.
