“this place makes me glad I live up here!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

Dropped in for drinks and appetizers in the middle of te day. Been here before and really like the premises as well as the selection of food. Not your plop and slop typcial Tex Mex plates. Very nice presentation of items on the plate which was aesthetically pleasing and appetizing. We had the house magarita and about six of the happy hour plates including empanadas, chic tacos, beef chalupas, calamari and really good chips w/dip. All small plates were so tasty with dips and sauces being light and bright with flavor. The congratulate proprietor for having a vision and seeing it through in an upscale manner yet keeping the prices real. The establishment is very clean and toward night time the lighting in the rooms is really modern with purple lowlighting and the patio is large with outdoor fireplaces. The music is really appropriate great mexican contemporary and one can talk at dinner and be heard by their companions. Service is excellent and attentive.I love the food, the place and the service and I hope this eatery will be here for a long long time.

“Good mexican food and service - we'll return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

We had lunch with friends on a Saturday. The restaurant was not busy, so we got a lot of individual attention. Suggestions from the host for lunch were excellent. The presentation was much better than that in other mexican restaurants, and the food was really good. We will definitely return.

“Heard this was good - and it is!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014 via mobile

The Hacidenda's at the Summit in North Scottsdale has been a nice discovery. We've been there 3 times now. The food is really good, and I'm most impressed with the service. It's the kinds of service where they check on you several times, by more than one person. Perfect! It's family owned, right in to the kitchen. We've been welcomed by two different members of the family, including Irene. We wish them luck and hope Its here next year when we come back.
Thanks to our server Roldolfo.
(Love their rice! - and their spinach tortilla chips - who would guess! :-)

“Excellent Mexican food in out of the way location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013

My wife and two guests ate with me at this very good restaurant last night. It is located in a complex of retail and food shops. The menu was varied and the food was fresh and tasty. The service also was very good and the prices were quite reasonable. Our major complaint is that we misjudged the distance and suggest that it may take you longer than you plan to get there. Nonetheless, it is worth the trip if you like authentic Mexican food. The seating area was vey clean and the portions were ample. (They had run out of flan for dessert, however, and so one of our guests was disappointed in that regard.) I had the fish tacos, good but rather small in size. The fresh chips and pico de gallo on the table before the meal were excellent. The waiter did forget to bring our order of guacamole as an appetizer, however. All in all, almost excellent but not quite. The setting was slightly noisier than we would have liked, and the restaurant was not crowded on Monday night at 7.

“Great Mexican Restaurant in North Scottsdale”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2013

My husband and I just went back for our second lunch at this restaurant and were again very happy with the meal and service. I had the chicken fajitas, and everything was cooked fresh to order. The chicken was cooked perfectly so it was still moist and delicious. My husband tried a special soup with chicken broth, tomatoes, avocados and tortilla strips. It was so good, he ordered a second serving.

The owner and his wife are from Mexico City, and his wife does the cooking. She carefully prepares all of the ingredients as you might at home if you had the time (and knew how). I'm hoping this restaurant makes it in north Scottsdale, because it our new favorite.
