I chose Old Town Tortilla factory after reading great reviews about the ambiance and atmosphere. I expected average food, but did not expect the experience to be so lackluster. While the patio was pretty and the string lights set a nice ambiance, there was no music, and it just felt kind of dead. It might be that it's was the low season in Scottsdale (it is hot there in July!), but in general it wasn't as fun or inviting as I would have hoped. Also, the misters were great, but the girls who sat at the end of the table near them literally got soaking wet.

While it seemed like on many nights it might be a good place for large crowds, we just must have come on a down night.

In general, the whole experience was just average. The company truly made the evening. Not the food or the location.

The restaurant grounds were beautiful and the margaritas were excellent. We had a buffet - the meal and the desserts were just amazing. I highly recommend this place.

They had great homemade tortillas. Our order had to be made over because it was overcooked, so we had to wait a long time to eat. The portion sizes were average. The wait staff was excellent.
Outdoor dining in the fall would be excellent. Not so much in the summer.

We stopped here in the late afternoon and it was too hot to sit outside. They originally sat us at a table right next to the restrooms so we asked to be moved to a less busy area. They then moved us to the furthest room back with a large party celebrating an anniversary. (4 non stop screaming toddlers) The parents/grandparents thought it was super cute that their kids were screaming...not so much for anyone else in the place - so RUDE! Anyway, no one came to take our drink order or greet us for over 15 minutes! Finally we flagged someone down and over comes Jessica. She had several excuses why she hasn't taken care of us but it boiled down to being our fault. We ordered drinks and 2 of the 4 were incorrect - which she again blamed on us...she claimed that's what we ordered. ??? Really?? We got no chips/salsa, no tortillas until we asked. We ordered the crab appetizer but it arrived AFTER our meal arrived so we could not even enjoy it. I mentioned to the waitress that the appetizer came after the meal so the manager took it off our bill. WHY DIDN'T THE MANAGER COME TALK TO US???? THAT IS YOUR JOB! We ordered the street taco's and they were okay...nothing great. We have been coming here for years but there are so many better places in Scottsdale I don't think we will be back. I called the manager (Nick) after we left and all he could say was "oh sorry, oh sorry".

The warm tortillas served before the meal were a nice touch - the portion sizes were HUGE! The Mahi Mahi tacos were delicious as were the margaritas! The patio is huge and beautifully lit. Prices are reasonable.
