“Great food & wine - perfect evening”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Birthday celebration for me. A great place for fun, food and family. Add a little wine to the experience and it is perfect. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is very nice. The attention to detail was very good. Our overall experience was extremely enjoyable.

We arrived timely for our reservation and were immediately seated. Almost immediately, our primary server introduced herself and asked us about cocktails. Bread and water quickly followed. The entire evening demonstrated a well run, organized establishment with the staff working together, as a team, to make a very enjoyable experience.

“Delightful restaurant off the beaten path”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

We walked by this small restaurant, when out for a morning walk, and decided to call and make a reservation for dinner. We learned that the owner is an Alice Waters devotee, who grows fresh herbs and vegetables for her restaurant. Fritz guided us through the menu and wine selections. Rancho Pinot has a calm and classy/eclectic decor. You didn't have to shout as you can actually hear everyone at your dinner table. We had the fresh grouper, homemade pasta with a tomato and sausage sauce, and cauliflower curry soup with small crunchy bits of bacon on top, that was one of the soups I have every tasted. There were a lot of locals there and that's always a good thing.
We will go back on our next visit to Scottsdale.

“Still the one...”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

This long-standing Scottsdale fine dining restaurant was better than ever during our most recent visit. Cauliflower soup with coconut milk, curry and lime-yogurt was outstanding, as was the roasted pork. The escarole salad was large, hearty and delicious. I was a bit unimpressed with their draft beer selections. The Mission Brewery Blonde Ale was bland and uninspiring. The Dos Cabezos Grenache was a pleasant surprise. A bit hot on entry and not very complex, it went great with food and was an unexpected surprise with an Arizona winery. The pecan tort for desert was excellent, but I think our server began to fade on us when larger parties began to arrive as they were bigger, hipper groups compared to my mom and myself. Try to not be so transparent next time.

“The best Phoenix has to offer!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We have going to this restaurant since it opened almost 20 years ago. Chrysa, the chef-owner, serves outstanding cuisine, provides impeccable service and you can actually have a conversation with your guests in the restaurant's main and only room. Wonderful selection of meat, fish or vegetables......organic and fresh from the farm. Outstanding wine selection.
A very special place not to be missed on your visit to Phoenix or for residents.
