“great clean hotel excellent staff”
Reviewed July 29, 2010

I was in Phoenix on business. I chose this hotel because it was in Scottsdale, had a pickup service from and to the airport. The room was large and clean. The staff very helpful. Only problem noise from upstairs room: you can here every footstep day or night.

I was traveling with my husband and 13-yr old nephew. The room featured a separate living room area with a mini-kitchen and a tv. Through french doors were 2 Queen-sized beds, another tv, and a small balconey. Plenty of room and situated so that my nephew could have his own tv and we could watch tv in our own room. The hotel staff were more than nice. There was a complimentary "happy hour" complete with wine, beer, nachos, and snacks! After happy hour, the hotel shuttle took us to our dinner destination and then picked us up afterwards! The breakfast was wonderful - complete with eggs, bagels, bisquits, juice, cereal, fruit, and coffee. This hotel also has a free shuttle to and from the airport. This hotel was a fantastic value for the price. If and when we return to Phoenix, we are staying here!

Having driven from San Diego we were ready for a two night break at the Holiday Inn at Scottsdale. Our room was really spacious and comfortable. Although we had a balcony we were unlucky to have the smallest, set in a corner overlooking the pool. The pool and Spa were great.
The location is good. A complimentary shuttle service is available but we walked to the main shopping mall quite easily.
The staff on the front desk were very helpful and gave us lots of useful information.

During my 10-day stay at this hotel, I experienced top-notch service in every way. The front desk mgrs were friendly, professional, accommodating, helpful. Housekeepers were thorough, leaving not only my room but the entire facility spic-n-span. Food bar was wonderful, offering variety and luscious cinnamon rolls! (Suggestion: offer more fresh fruit other than bananas.) The fellow who maintained and stocked the breakfast area was hard working and friendly. Although I didn't have an opportunity to partake, I understand there was a daily afternoon manager's reception. Overall, one of my most positive hotel experiences ever. And HIExpress has the BEST bath products!

We Loved the layout of the rooms, very quiet with beds so far back from the door.
It was very nice to have the small dinner with wine, pop and beer as we were tired and not very hungry. Wish that there were more hotels out there such as this one. Very kind at check-in and helpful as well.

We found our room to be very clean, quiet and with the complimentary breakfast , a great value for $70 per night for a suite. We were passing through the Scottsdale area and found this hotel to be in a great location, close to Old Towne and not that far from the airport. We moved to the Embassy Suites at 44th Street the next night, thinking we needed to be closer to the airport for our 9:00 AM flight but would have stayed put if there wasn't a cancellation policy at the Embassy Suites. It cost more and wasn't as clean or quiet. Definitely a great value for the cost.

This was actually a combined business and leisure trip for us--my husband had meetings and my daughter and I planned to enjoy the pool and maybe some sightseeing. We wanted a nice hotel, in a pleasant setting and (important) and great pool. We looked at several and booked this one based on pictures online. The pool looks beautiful. Imagine our disapointment when we were confronted with a sign at the desk saying the pool would be closed 'for maintenance' for 3 of the 4 days we would be there! This resulted in my daughter and I watching guys fill maybe three cracks in the deck while we sat in the 100 degree heat on our balcony, dying to swim. Or during the heat of the day, we just sat inside. A nearby hotel offered the use of their pool, but it was a bit of a walk, and a not-so-nice indoor pool. Finally on our last day, we could swim. The manager I complained to to just shrugged and said they had planned this 'weeks ago, sorry" No real apology. THEN WHY NOT POST THIS ON YOUR WEBSITE? We could have booked an equally nice hotel with a pool we could use. Lesson--if you book online, phone the hotel and speak to someone personnally and ask specific questions about what's important to you. The pool was important to us, we should have phoned them to ask if it would be open the dates we were there. Otherwise it is a nice hotel, with all suites, pretty nice for a Holiday Inn Express, so I would still recommend.
