My hustand and two daughters stayed at this hotel during spring break. We were very happy with everything about the hotel. We did have a problem with our room, however, once we spoke to a manager (Brigette), she appologized and upgraded us to a one bedroom casita suite which was lovely. In addition, the next day we had a basket of goodies in our room with a letter appologizing for any inconvience.

The pool area was amazing and service was good without being intrusive. Location was good, there was quite a bit around the hotel. Rooms were very clean, beds were super comfortable and the service was better than most resorts that we have stayed at.

Lastly, even though it was spring break and the hotel was 100% booked, the facilities were not over crowded.

Without hesitation I would stay here again.

We just stayed at the Kierland for a little less then a week. I can't say enough good things about this hotel!

First, I should say that the most important things to me at any hotel is cleanliness and courtesy of staff. This place is unbelievable on both counts...

There was a little problem with the room we received at check-in. However, it was taken care of right away with no problem and we were switched to the type of room we had originally requested, even though the hotel was very full for spring break.

To a person, staff was friendly and helpful. The pool waitstaff was wonderful, and the concierges were great in helping us choose restaurants and attractions.

Again, the hotel was one of the cleanest I've ever stayed at (and I border on obsessive when it comes to cleanliness...)

We will definitely go back and stay here again.

We spent 3 nights here in early Dec, and were pleased with both the property and the level of service.

Each evening we enjoyed sitting outside, sipping cocktails by the "fire-pit" & watching the sunset. While you would need a car to see Phoenix or other parts of the area, you could have a nice stay here without one. The resort is a short walk to lots of shopping and several restaurants (or the resort will take you via shuttle), so it is easy to eat offsite. The Westin restaurants are good, but pricey (which I suppose goes with the Westin name).

We found the staff to be consistently pleasant and helpful. We didn't use the valet parking, as the self-park is close by and the weather was perfect. Regardless, the valet staff was always friendly and didn't seem to slight us just because we didn't use their services.

We'll go back to this property, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a nice retreat in Scottsdale.

I stayed at the Westin Kierland for three nights while attending some spring training baseball games nearby and enjoying the resort. The resort is outstanding! It is very niclely done, clean, and the staff is very, very friendly. The property is well maintained, the room furnishings are nice, and the location is excellent. It is a bit pricey, but I believe worth every dollar. I would recommend to anyone and I would and will return in the future without hesitation. If you do a moderate to low amount of travel like me and you are of average background you will be in awe with this place. Very, very nice. I can't say enough good about our stay and the property.

From the moment we arrived at the Westin, we were treated with excellent service. Everyone who works at the hotel goes out of their way to help you and everyone who works there is very happy. Check in was fast, we have a 4 month year old baby and a 4 year old so this is important. We asked the people at the front desk if we could have a crib and a roll away. Within 5 minutes of walking into our room both had arrived. The heavenly crib was a nice touch and both children were given a kids tote with goodies inside. Room service was very quick and the children's menu had a good selection of snacks for kids. My daughter loved the kids club (nice, clean facilites) and she made different crafts each day and they gave her a backpack with hat, camera and book to document her trip! The pools were excellent and the walk in pool is great for younger kids. We got a cabana one day and enjoyed the great service! There is a lot of great shopping close by the Kierland Commons is right across the street. The Ocean Club is a great place to eat and they make you martinis with dry ice inside (book ahead as this place is quite busy). Deseo within the hotel has a happy hour with half price drinks and appies from 5:30 - 7:30. Definitely dry the ceviche and rock shrimp! If you like steaks go to City Hall Grille it is worth the 12 - 15 minute trip. We noticed there are not a lot of taxi's in Phoenix so if you get a town car to drop you off make sure you get there card to come pick you up! If you call Carmen at the concierge desk to arrange things for you before you arrive you won't be dissapointed. Can't wait to go again.

My husband and I are just finishing up our 4 night, 5 day stay at the Westin Resort and Spa. Overall the experience was very good. The pool is fantastic, the lazy river is a huge plus. The main pool, even though it has tons of kids and families was always relaxing and never too loud. Great hotel for families with children, plenty to keep them busy. The adult pool and hot tub are open 24 hours.

The location couldn't be better. Right next to the Kierland mall, plenty of restaurants, Starbucks right around the corner, perfect location. About a 10-15 minute drive into Old Scottsdale. Can't ask for a better location. Definitely need a rental car, would suggest getting a rental for any trip to the Scottsdale area though. There is a Hertz rental at the Westin.

As a heads up, there are plenty of grocery stores within a mile. Definitely suggest stocking up on snacks and water so you can skip the hotel food once in awhile. My husband and I only ate at the pool restaurant, while it was pricey it was fairly good food.

Downsides: Price! Very pricey during this time of year ($600/night). The rooms are nice, but nothing to write home about. Balconies are very small. You have to pay to use the business center and it's $13/day for internet access. The hotel, compared to the Biltmore or the Pheonician, lacks all of the Arizona charm. It's just a cookie cutter Westin with very little Arizona accents. My husband and I are Starwood Gold members and normally gold members get the benefit of 4pm check-out. Not at this Westin, 1:30 was the latest they would give us. Don't expect too many perks, if any at all, if you are a Starwood Gold member. Lastly, if you are a traveller annoyed by conferences, this is not the hotel to stay at. There is a huge conference center and several conferences going on.

My husband and I will definitely return just because of the location and the pool.
