I stayed at the Westin last summer at the beginning of July and got a great deal on Expedia. While it was incredibly hot that time of year, I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Westin, and thought it was one of the best resorts I've ever been to. My room and bed was amazing, and I loved the location. There was a great street for shopping outside the resort, as well as restaurants with amazing happy hour deals. This was a great place to relax and unwind, and would love to go back, as their spas and swimming pools were excellent.

Dear Alana,

Thank you for posting a review about your visit to The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa. We appreciate receiving feedback from our guests and are thankful that you have provided us with yours.

We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay last summer. We see that you had a wonderful time relaxing at our pools and hope that many lasting memories were made during your time at the Resort.

Have you heard about the exciting enhancement to our Adventure Water Park? Last fall, we added the Kierland FlowRider. This boardsport simulator has quickly become our guest’s favorite attraction and we believe you would thoroughly enjoy a ride on Scottsdale’s only waves.

We hope to see you again.

Sincerely,
Communications Team

We took advantage of a special offer we received in the mail and took a trip without the kids. We had never been to Arizona and really enjoyed the stay here at Westin Kierland. Kevin, our concierge, was very helpful with ideas on what to do and see while we were in town. The rooms are very clean and spacious for the most part. The hotel gas many amenities and even if you are not a golfer it is a nice peaceful place to stay and is close o many good restaurants and shopping.

It's only fair to give the disclaimer that from my experience, this review only applies to the time of year that the Westin is running their "staycation" summer rates. The Westin goes to the trouble of establishing an adult only pool. The only problem is they allow families to use it after the family pool closes. So imagine, you've been out for a romantic dinner and you go back to your room, put on your new swimsuits to go down for a relaxing time in the hot tub, only to discover the place is full of families and little kids. One question begs why this specific group of parents are letting kids this age in the hot tub to begin with? The question begs why are they doing at 10:00 at night? When we mentioned the kids to a hotel employee we were told adults only doesn't really mean adults only.

Also, FYI the great rate you see online (Ours was $116.00) doesn't include the resort fee or the parking fee or naturally taxes. After all was said and done, the final tab elevates to over $200.00. At that price point, during the summer, you're better off at the Phoenician or the Four Seasons.

I recently visited the Westin Kierland for a 4 day weekend escape. Having spent some time at premium properties in Las Vegas where you get spoiled, my expectations are always in check when travelling elsewhere. I have to say that this resort blew me away with Friendly service and great accomodations. I would put it up against anywhere I have ever stayed. The property is beautiful and well maintained. However, the service is what sets them apart. Everywhere I went I was greeted with genuine smiles from every single staff member. I cannot remember ever feeling so welcome anywhere.

I would like to specifically mention Steve Richardson and his entire flowrider staff. They are the reason I have already booked two return visits. Visiting beautiful places is always nice, but being made to feel welcome there is far more important. This resort and the flow staff does exactly that.

This was our 3rd stay at the Westin Kierland and we truly enjoy coming here from R.I. Some might wonder why we head to the desert in July but we find this time of year beautiful and the price is right. As far as our recent stay we found the staff to be very helpful and professional. As Starwood Owners we have had the pleasure to visit many outstanding resorts and this is one of them. We travelled with our adult daughter and her boyfriend and we reserved a 1 bedroom villa with a lockoff studio. The rooms were large, clean, and we had a beautiful view of the golf course. The grounds and pool areas are kept very clean. We purchased the 5 day golf pass and when there was some confusion regarding the price the staff at the golf center went out of their way to make amends and treated us very kindly. Tony's wine tasting session cannot be missed and we look forward to learning and tasting every time we visit. We rented a car(Hertz) at the airport and spent one day at Sedona (Pink Jeep Tours are GREAT!) and another day we drove to the Grand Canyon (our daughter got engaged there right in front of us-need I say more about that day?). We love Arizona and everyone we come into contact with is always so pleasant and helpful. I cannot say enough about the Westin Kierland--the resort is beautiful, the golf is awesome and the staff outstanding. Finally, we did not use the facilities at the hotel side so I won't comment on that area and we usually like to prepare our own meals in the villa so I don't have a comment on the restaurants at the Kierland. Thank you Westin Kierland!

Room Tip: Building near the adult pool overlooking the golf course and top floor.
