Louie has been doing thisfor a long time and believes his restaurant is a top place. His price.s are quite high considering you're not getting anything near the quality of food or service reflected in his prices. He thinks he has a New York style bistro but it's a poor excuse for one. when he charges so much for so little, I'm surprised maintains any loyal following. Most of what goes on seems to be on auto-pilot. Louie needs to spend more time and reduce his prices. Made a reservation but was told they didn't have one for us. They did seat us quickly but should have turned around when they screwed up the reservation

When Uncle Louie's was in Carefree it was very small indoors and about the same size outdoors - small. BUT the food and prices were a TRUE value. Since they moved to Scottsdale, their restaurant may have a bit more ambiance however we find that the food is much more expensive, the service is mediocre, and not bad but not deserving of the honors it used to have. While the owners are very friendly and appreciative of your visit, this does not make up for the price increases and the lack of experienced service. The take out pizza we had this week was bland and really not very good but way too expensive for what we got..

Yes, I agree that the interior of the restaurant looks quite friendly and that the owners specialize in making the guests feel welcome. However, it appears that the take-out customer pays for all that fluff as well -- at least that's the only earthly reason I can imagine them demanding $25 for a small-ish takeout pizza. The pizza was pretty good (a "B"), and would have been a fair value at half the price. The crust was a little soggy, the taste a little bland. Perhaps Uncle Louie offers a nice, local alternative for dine-in Italian, but there are better alternatives for a take-out pizza.

Bad location in a nearly empty mall, no atmosphere, disinterested young girl servers.
Food is actually ok but very expensive. The only good thing is the owner who visits every table and enjoys talking to the customers. Pizza was nice, well cooked as was the salmon. Not somewhere I would go again.

When stepping into Uncle Louie's you will be greeted by Marie, Louie's wife, she is a beautiful lady with a warm inviting smile that says welcome to my home! Louie is a character, we love to see him and hear his stories, he makes a point in welcoming everyone and we look forward to him sitting down with us for a few minutes.
Let's get down to it, the FOOD is the reason we continue to come back! We have never had a bad meal, every time we visit we can count on the same high quality, excellent flavor, fresh, and served very hot. The veal dishes are excellent, the lobster & shrimp Fra Diavolo is great and my all-time favorite is the eggplant parmesan with the vodka sauce. They also have pizza, my recommendation is the "Blue Bomber", it's a gorgonzola, roasted garlic, caramelized onion pesto creation that is to die for! Chef Michael is always consistent, we KNOW when going to dinner we will have a great meal. Thank you Marie & Louie!
