“lots of challenges with hilly greens”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

Raptor is a great desert course if you want an open or narrow challenge. This course has something for everyone. Fairways are in great shape. Some nice forgiving holes, but also have a nice mix of challenges. Greens are in great shape and run fast and are full of hills and valleys. The staff is exceptional and very accomodating. They greet you with smiles and help you all the way. Nice driving range complete with balls. Summer rates are fantastic, enjoy playing before they start overseeding. The loud music greeting us at the bag drop actually did not bother any of us, probably becasue we moved along well. The music was not playing at the practice range so they must have changed that since we played there last year. They are adding on a new restaurant, Isabelle's which looks like it will be a nice addition when that opens by Fall.

“Grayhawk was everything I hoped it would be”
Reviewed October 28, 2011

Played the Raptor course three weeks after overseeding. Course was in perfect condition. Greens rolled true. Fairways were immaculate. We played the course from 6600 yards but could have played it at 7300. Good mix of brutal and forgiving holes. Staff was accommodating and friendly. I didn't eat on site so I can't comment about the restaurant facilities. Beverage cart came by at least 6 times which was awesome. If you're playing the area, spend the money to play a PGA level course that will not disappoint.

“Very Poor Example of a "First Class" Club”
Reviewed February 13, 2011

Like: 2 Fine courses. Serene setting. Very picturesque. No Like: 1. The loud rock/music/noise one is subjected to at the bag drop-off area. 2. The same obnoxious music blasting at you on the driving range. 3. The high tariff for being bombarded with the above junk music. 4. Staff needs Customer Service 101 refresher course. The attitude is "we are doing you a favor by letting you play at our "prestigious" club. 5. Lack of reply to my e-mail by Director of Operations re the above. Summary: There are numerous other great courses in the area. Don't waste your time here being treated as an "infidel"

“Had High Expectations”
Reviewed April 5, 2009

After hearing Grayhawk was a must play I booked a tee time. I played Talon and was very dissapointed. The greens had a lot of ball marks, the grass was tore up, and there were two five somes in front of us. The layout was alright, although there seemed to be far less cactus then other courses. Perhaps Raptor is better.

“Top notch golf experience at Grayhawk”
Reviewed February 4, 2009

I played Grayhawk week of Feb 1 and found it to be the best experience of the course we played that week, including TPC Champions, Rancho Manana and Dove Valley Ranch. Specifics:
- Raptor layout is by far the most interesting we saw all week. Nearly every tee box is hundreds of yards from the previous green, meaning that you have a different view every hole and don't have that back and forth view you see on many courses.
- several holes have well-designed "risk or reward" choices that made for an enjoyable strategic exercise
- unlike some desert mountain courses, you can actually hit a driver or metal wood on most of the par 4s and 5s
- par 3s are exceptional in beauty...Grayhawk was the only place we saw flowers on the course all week
- pro shop is very nice, much nicer than the more-acclaimed shop at TPC. lobby and clubhouse are very nice.
- only minor complaint I have is that they don't have a 9 hole rate. we wanted to come back next day and play a quick 9 before flight out. They were willing to give us discounted $99 rate but that's too much for 9 holes so we passed.
