Don't be fooled by the bland exterior, the food is anything but! The restaurant was almost empty (on a Saturday night) and the décor wasn't anything fancy, but we were pleasantly surprised once the food came. The butter chicken was nearly perfect, the four appetizers we sampled were all good and the complimentary plate of papadums, with three different sauces including a thick coriander one that was fresh and delicious, disappeared in minutes. Everything we ordered was very good and reminded us of the food we had on a previous trip to India. There was absolutely nothing left in our plates - a second side order of naan took care of all the gravy left in the plates!
If you like Indian food or if you've never tried it but are curious, definitely give the Taj Mahal a chance. It's the kind of place you go to for the food, not so much for the experience, but the food is totally worth it.
