Sorry to say we were not impressed with the resort. Pool was nice and ladies serving at the pool were great. The casino full of drunks and smoke asked the casino host if they would comp a night for the room they said we don't need too we have to much business probably won't be back. We've stayed other places in Scottsdale that were a much better experience

We spent a week at Talking Stick in March 2014. The executive king room is very clean and comfortable. Lots of space. The balcony is very large and looked out over the golf course and mountains. Since this room didn't adjoin any others, it is very quiet, and I find that important. The rooms are well-appointed, and the bath and shower are really well done. Very large, with huge shower spaces featuring the rain-like water flow. The pool and area around it are very nice. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. They will provide food/beverage service all day for you. The on site restaurants are also very good. The Orange Sky on the top floor is very upscale with a great view, and the Blue Coyote on the ground floor is open 24/7 and is very good as well, especially for breakfast. (Get a fruit salad) Check in and check out were a breeze, also very friendly and helpful. The one thing, and it is a minor thing to me, as a non-smoker, it is a little difficult getting used to the casino as smoking is permitted there. The ventilation is pretty good at keeping the air decent, though. I could go on and on about this property, but I"ll just say this- I'm Looking forward to our next visit already.

Room Tip: The executive rooms have balconies and are located on the ends of the hotel. The northern end is awa...

I had a meeting at the Talking Stick and was looking forward to good food, gambling and fun. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Nothing close to vegas and the cigarette smoke was awful and just got worse the later it got. It was so bad I didn't even gamble. I will not be back.

We visited in September 2013 and booked our stay thru Hotwire. We were pleasantly surprised at the value - as the quality of the rooms is top-notch with higher end fixtures and appointments (marble/granite/kholer). The bathroom was amazingly huge - with separate marble tub and free-standing all glass shower with a "rainfall" shower head. The mini bar was beautiful and the in-room coffee maker was a Keurig K-cup machine! The desk area had all of the necessary connectivity ports with plenty of outlets and had some really interesting design features as well. The bed had a top-quality mattress w/high thread count sheets. Having the casino downstairs was fun and there were several areas outside the casino where you could sit and enjoy a nice drink. The pool area was large, but rather "lively" with a younger crowd (mostly ages 16 - 25). At night there was a club area with DJ and dancing. Their breakfast buffet was absolutely huge and an incredible value with top quality food. We will stay there again if we get the chance.

Room Tip: All rooms have an amazing desert view, but I liked the West-facing rooms better.

I stayed at Talking Stick Resort for a conference. I didn't have any expectations and I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom large -- with both a tub and shower. The staff was exceedingly friendly. I arrived late and my room wasn't ready -- a wait of only about 10 minutes -- but the hotel credited my bill for the inconvenience. Talking Sticks didn't feel like other hotel changes which was a very nice change of pace. I recommend it for small conferences, or any other reason.

We spent a long weekend for Spring Training. The field is amazing and we highly recommend going to the ballpark. The shuttle service for hotel guests is very convenient and the driver was very friendly and helpful. We were excited to stay at the Talking Stick Resort but upon arrival were dismayed to learn that four of us (after paying additional money for four people in one room) were booked in a room with one bed. We waited in the lobby for quite some time before a manager came out, didn't apologize but said it was our fault and our only option was to keep the room with one bed. She also said that there was nothing she could do about pricing issues or refunds because we booked through Spring Training and not through the hotel directly which makes little sense, ultimately. After having this conversation for another fifteen minutes, she finally offered us a room with two beds that was lesser than the room we paid for. We still have no idea how this alternate option suddenly became available after she'd insisted there were absolutely no alternative options. In all, the customer service was very sub par. We had also called the hotel a week prior to see if one of us could check in before the others and were told no.
The restaurant, Orange Sky, is wonderful and we highly recommend it. Our server, Amy, was fun, knowledgeable, and added to our overall enjoyment. We also had some of the best wine ever thanks to the restaurant's suggestions. Otherwise, the advertisements about seven restaurants are overstated. The options are limited and most are small and located right next to the bustling casino.
Despite our negative experiences with management and the front desk employees, we were pleased that all other employees, including the bell hop and concierge, were very friendly and helpful.

I stayed for a small conference of roughly 250 attendees. The space was perfect for that size group and could have accommodated twice as many people. The hotel staff are very nice. I stayed on a club floor and the room was spacious, quiet and smoke-free. It's really a separate building from the main entry casino and no smoking is allowed in the hotel section. Getting to the conference area does expose you to the smoking area even if you skirt around the outside window, but it's much less than in the casino itself. It looked like a pretty complete if small (relative to Vegas new properties) casino, but this isn't something that I am interested in, so I don't have a valid opinion on how good it was.

Room Tip: The club floors have the room doors inset from the hallway, so you get zero hallway noise.
