Description: Fogo de ChaoR (fo-go dee shoun), is an authentic Southern Brazilian steakhouse. In 1979, FogoR began sharing the gaucho way of preparing meat in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill each of our 16 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service. We invite you to enjoy the delicious preparations of our gaucho chefs along with our gourmet salad bar, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list.

This is a must visit for carnivores and they also have an outstanding salad bar.
The meats were cooked to perfection and the staff was always there when you were ready for more.

“Good for carnivores”

Excellent meat restaurant though also a good salad bar. Try not to let them stuff you with bread and salad before the meat, whcih is excellent.

“About $50 per person for dinner but worth the experience”
Reviewed January 9, 2012

Perhaps the best tip I can give is to come very, very hungry! This is the only location I have visited so I cannot compare it to the others. We had a table in the corner of a back room, and it was lovely.

They invite you to start off with their version of a salad bar. Caution, everything is gourmet and looks fabulous. You may be tempted to pile the food up on your plate, but don't. Just take a tiny bit of all your choices because trust me when I say you will want to try all the different meats.

The gaucho chefs continuously make their way around the room with 15 different spears filled with freshly grilled meat. They constantly monitor the temperature of the meat to ensure it is served perfectly. If your card is turned green side up that signals the gaucho to stop and serve you. If it is red, they walk right by. It keeps going and going until you are done. Our group consisted of several out of state relatives who had not seen each other in years. It was a wonderful environment to spend a couple hours eating and visiting with one another.

As for dessert, I know they have some, but I was so completely full from the meal that a delicious cup of coffee was all I had.

“Come hungry!”

Expensive but a wonderful place. The salad bar is remarkable in itself and I have considered going back just for that, but the roasted meats are just soooo good, it would be torture not to eat the rest of the meal

“Not a very relaxing dinner”
Reviewed December 8, 2011

The food was ok. The staff was rushing around like crazy and I would not go there again to enjoy a relaxing dinner. It was o.k. and a little over priced. I felt rushed to hurry up and eat, pay and leave.
