Renowned Zinc Bistro Chef Matt Carter is now cooking up modern Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America. Home made Tortillas, Arepas, and Salsas are made fresh daily and all meats are prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor.

The Mission, on Brown Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale, is a very nice, classic Mexican restaurant that does not disappoint in any way. If the weather is cool enough, try and get an outside table in the back. They have outside seating in front,
but it is a little noisier and closer to traffic. Still acceptable for sure, if the weather is good!
The food is a series of excellent, large offerings, and if you like it hot, you are at the right place! Ask about the sauces, and get them on the side if you want. Staff was professional helpful, but if they get really busy, you might get jammed up a little.
It is a perfect Scottsdale restaurant and well worth it. Pork and beef dishes, good salads and veggies, and an outstanding guacamole dip made table side to your taste. We have been there three times for lunch or brunch and can't wait to try dinner and some Margaritas!

The food here really is fabulous. We had the tableside guacamole, the Mahi fish tacos, and the bread pudding for dessert and they were all really, really good. My biggest complaint was that I was with friends who don't drink alcohol, and the minute our server was told we wouldn't be drinking she went cold on us. We even asked about non-alcoholic options and she seemed annoyed, so we stuck with water. She pretty much ignored us through the rest of the meal and it felt like that was all due to a lack of alcohol on our part. The guy who made the guacamole was super friendly and everyone else seemed fine, just a less-than-stellar server. I'd still go eat there again in a heartbeat.

Sound Mexican fusion restaurant in the heart of Scottsdale. Fantastic old building with a good menu. Will suit those who like their food a little on the spicy side.
Service prompt and efficient without being over bearing, would definitely recommend.

I went to Sunday brunch with a group of 8. We did not have a reservation but they were still very accommodating. We grabbed our first drinks at the bar before being wisked away to an amazing table on the patio. Most of the group went for the all you can eat pig roast tacos. They were extraordinary! This is a place to take any guest that wants to blown away.

Great restaurant but the lights were down too low. In our opinion, people should not need a flashlight to see the menu or view their food. This wasn't just us, but the tables next to us also needed the wait staff to shine a flashlight for them to see clearly. I would give this restaurant top ratings if it wasn't for the low lights. The food was very good. It's a great date night type of place. If The Mission would raise the light level, it would be perfect.
