“Amazing food”
Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

Simply amazing food. This isn't typical Mexican food, it's rather a fusion of French and Southwestern cuisine. The Clam stew was amazing, just creamy and spicy enough. The crispy pork belly was very good. They made a mistake by bringing us the wrong appetizer at first (street corn), so they just gave it to us on the house! There was a bit too much mayo on the corn, but still good. Then the green chile mole duck confit with queso potatoes was to die for. And same thing for the barbacoa pork tacos. Portions were just alright, not huge. We still had place for dessert; we opted for the churros which were just average. The staff was nice, the atmosphere was good, better call to make a reservation in advance especially on weekend nights.

A must have - The table side guacamole ...
Loved everything about this restaurant ... Fun , great food and interesting people watching . Just like their sister restaurant - THE HOUSE , the manager is terrific and helpful , and the food and atmosphere is great ... IF YOU HAVE ONE NIGHT IN SCOTTSDALE SELECT THE MISSION OR THE HOUSE ....

“Outstanding dining in Scottsdale”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

The made-at-the-table guacamole was absolutely divine – and I’ve never been much for avocado before. I had the pork shoulder with chorizo and hubby had the skirt steak. Both dishes were wonderful and we were stuffed when we left. Our waiter struck exactly the right balance of being attentive but not intrusive. If you’re looking for Taco Bell or Chipotle type mexican food, then by all means go right on over to those places. If you are looking for flavorful upscale southwest fare, I highly recommend The Mission.

“Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

We ate here a few days ago with friends. We unanimously agreed this was a terrific spot. We ate lunch and now look forward to having dinner here. T

The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, efficient and quite friendly. The food was a treat and I highly recommend the guacamole and cheese platter to begin. These items can be split between 2 people. The tortilla chips are made right there and came to the table hot and with the perfect amount of salt. We fought over of the last remaining chips. We all ordered different tacos and they were just excellent. Each couple also ordered the french fries and we were in heaven. The homemade mayo and ketchup that came with them was a perfect accompaniment. We opted to eat inside (although they have a patio in the front of the restaurant as well as the back). The atmosphere and decor is elegant and warm. The ceiling is covered with a matte black paint and crystal chandeliers run the length of the room with dark wood throughout. I cannot forget to comment on the cocktails which were unique and very tasty. I am looking forward to a return visit in the near future. .

“Best food, drinks and atmosphere”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

This restaurant not only has amazing food but really goes above and beyond with the high level of service they provide. Guacamole is to die for, followed by the pork shoulder tacos and you have to finish it off with the pumpkin bread pudding. I also recommend trying some of their custom cocktails: Sophia Loren and Primarita. I can't ever get enough of this place and frequent it often. Perfect for a romantic date night or a fun happy hour.
