“Not what we expected”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

We were trying different types of food and chose Mexican for this evening meal. We checked out several ,via restaurant listings, and chose Blue Adobe. We eat Mexican every week in Bakersfield so knew what we liked. Alas, there was no such food and the waiter suggested a couple of choices that he thought we might like.. We left with sad face because we had no rice and beans, no typical Mexican foods It did advertise as New Mexican so I guess we should have questioned that. Later, we were told that there were other Mexican items on the menu, but our waiter did not point those out to us. It appeared to be a new type of restaurant and was busy so I think it is liked by many; we were just expecting something different, so were disappointed in that evening's choice for us.

It would be good to see how others experience this "New Mexican" type of restaurant. I look forward to other reviews on this restaurant.

“Great Food, service could be better”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Went to this restaurant based on recommendation. We sat on the Patio on Thursday April 4 2013. The patio is a lovely spot for an outdoor dining venue. The food was excellent. Our party of six had, chicken ceasar wrap, Christmas Enchiladas, lobster pasta (YUM YUM) pulled pork sandwich, and chimichanga. Margarita was excellent and fresh chips were devoured. The Flan wasw to die for! The prices varied and the most expensive dish we had was the Lobster Pasta. That being said, the server could have been better. He never introduced himself. We had to go looking for him and he never told us about the soup we got with our "BLU plate" dinner. Overall this place is worth going to. Good idea to make reservation in advance.

“Third time and still impressed”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

A nice original mix of Southwest influences and originality on this restaurant's menu. Located on a shopping strip which includes shops, restaurants and a Harkins movie theatre, it does not disappoint. Decent service, and nice relaxing set up. Have only been in the afternoons at this stage. Had a southwest chipotle style sauce barbeque ribs... very tasty and original, enjoyed immensely with a nice flair. A great variet to choose from on the menu.

“tasty”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

My wife and I stopped here after visiting Taliesin West, the Frank Lloyd Wright site. We sat on the patio. The Margaritas were excellent. I had the beef tacos. They were very good. The service was good. I would eat here again.

“Wow!!!”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

We are passing through Pheonix on our way to our "real" vacation and needed a good spot for dinner. Trip Advisor led us to the Blue Agave Grille and we loved it! Between the two of us, we tried four different delicious margaritas. The most impressive was the Skinny Dip Margarita with a Corona beer bottle turned upside down inside the huge glass. The salsa was flavorful and had a good kick to it. The best part (there's more? yes!) was the food. My husband ordered the Raspberry Chipotle Pork Tenderloin and said "wow" about five times during the meal. The flavors were varied, complimentary and delicious. I had a combo plate with a portobella enchilada (huge pieces of mushroom) and a lobster chili rellano. Usually the chilis are soggy and soft, but this one was crisp with huge pieces of lobster inside. Amazing food, great atmosphere (we heard the Foo Fighters, Depeche Mode, Elton John and Toad the Wet Sprocket), and great service!! Highly recommended!!!
